Johnson's Surplus — Local services in Mottville Township

This place has horrible customer service. I bought a tire and wheel from them through Amazon and when it didn't fit they told me I had to pay return shipping to get a refund. Tire and wheel cost $70 and return shipping cost $80. Why would I pay more to ship it back than what it cost? As those of you know Amazon sellers agree to stringent rules and returns policies when they agree to sell on Amazon. Essentially these clowns stuck me with a useless tire and wheel. Thats ok because its all out war now. They have crappy reviews on Google, crappy reviews on Amazon, crappy reviews on the Better Business Bureau, crappy reviews on Facebook. The only conclusion I can come to is this is just a crappy company who doesn't give a rip about their customers. As long as the money is in their pocket...see ya, too bad, tough luck customer. I'll personally see they never sell on Amazon again. As for the rest of you beware, they don't care about your satisfaction as a customer.

Response to the reply: There were no clear instructions on measuring the bolt pattern for what you were selling on your listing. These guys are such idiots this one situation has brought them more than a year of bad reviews and posts here and on Facebook and other places. Amazon's return policy is that there actually is a return policy which you have none because you sell items that cost more to return than the item cost in the first place. Also I had Amazon reach out to the seller after filing a complaint and no response. Basically you shouldn't function as a business because you have crappy service and NO RETURN POLICY. The tire and wheel are still in my garage sitting there unused because Johnson's garbage sales refuses to provide a return shipping label...

Pros: Neat & organized, lovely friendly dog, and a nice older gentleman. Cons: Horrible customer service, zero communication between employees, treating customers with disrespect, not following thru. Drove over an hour one way to pick up a part that a woman told us the day before they had and was compatible for the part we needed. Get there and no one knew anything about it. Staff argued most of the time with me, basically accusing us of lying about what we were told. Why would someone spend 2.5 hours on the road round trip if they weren't sure the part was there? Exactly why we called the day before. After several conversations, phone calls to an employee that wasn't there, and going back and forth was sent on my way with a part that the staff wasn't even sure would work. We typically always go to Bontragers, but thought we'd try Johnson's. Never again will I go there. Johnson's surplus is a fraud and scam Avoid this Rip off company. I ordered a new Atwood on demand water heater. When it arrived I found the unit was over two years old. The serial # had been scratched out.

My RV shop can not install the unit because 2 years ago Atwood had a recall due to a defect which could scald the user with boiling water and steam. With out the serial # Atwood will not send the recall kit to fix the problem. Also with out a serial # the warranty is void.

I have e mailed Johnson"s several times asking for a unit with a valid serial # or a refund. They have ignored my request. Also they do not answer phone calls

My concern is not only losing my $600 + but the fact that this company would sell defective equipment that could cause serious injury. It appears that Johnson's intended to hide units defect by removing the serial # Why would any one order anything from this rip off company.
