Shopped at IGA EVERY DAY until now. I was shopping there at 8.30am on Saturday November 19th. I had a cashier (The only Cashier working) give me the wrong change and insist I gave her a $1 bill rather then the $5 bill I handed her. You better pay attention if your a cashier it’s literally your whole job to avoid such occurrence’s. The issue is so trivial and not the reason I won’t be back. Everyone makes mistakes we are human. The problem was in how such a small $4 problem was handled is why I will never be back and the reason why IGA lost a $400 per month customer.
A manager / possibly the IGA franchise owner was there and never intervened. He is at a management level for sure based on my observations of his interactions with different employees over the last 3 years I have seen I’m not positive but he may even be the owner? Regardless this man had to have heard the heated conversation. If the lady wasn't fired for her handling of such a small situation and escalating it because the vegtables in the store have a higher IQ, then the store is in really bad shape. I couldn’t imagine what her solution to a serious problem would be!
The gentlemen in line in front of me was getting lottery ticket winnings and she misrang his payment back to him as if he bought $20 worth of tickets rather then a payout and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes on top of everything else while she corrected that screw up on the register. Never again!!! I will never go back this was strikes 1, 2 and 3! Again the change was a tiny part of the reason I won’t be back she should be fired based on her decision making skills in solving a problem with a customer. Imagine how many other customers had problems with her you lost as customers you didn’t hear about! ...
Read moreStore is nice for a small local grocery store. They have been working hard to upgrade the product mix and have a nice selection of organic produce. I was going there because they have a mandatory facemask policy as of July 21st and felt a little bit safer until today. Unfortunately today there were customers who chose to not only to not wear masks, but ignored store employees asking them to wear one. And yet they were allowed to keep shopping and breathing their germs on everyone and they looked like walking high risk cases, dirty, sweating and pushing past everyone. I am in the high risk age and health group for catching the Covid-19 virus, hence I am very conscious of my limiting risk factors, ie I wear a mask, use gloves and use lots of sanitizers and soap. Turns out everyone is now a high risk position and masks are common sense solutions. As much as I can, I always try to shop in local merchants. But if IGA is not more diligent about enforcing their mask rule, I will be forced to go back to Publix where there are wider aisles and a manager stopping uncovered customers at the door. They should get 5 stars for service, selection and quality, but loose two for unsanitary enforcement of their...
Read moreStore is good except for their fruits and vegetables which are apporable. They always have rotten fruit and veggies. And when told about it they do nothing, nothing but put them back on shelf to be sold. I have contacted corporate office about it and yet nothing done about it. Now with that out of way i will say they have a very polite staff of workers. They are very helpful and polite. They also an excellant deli. Food is delicous, deli is always clean, deli staff very polite and helpful. Again food is absolutely delious. The best fried chicken ever. Their meal of the day is excellant and some what sophisicated, very balanced meals and large portions. I would highly recommend eating from the deli. This store also carries several Gluten Free items. And products you don't usually find in smaller stores, gormet foods. I would r eccommend this store in every aspect except not the fruits...
