Hartlaub's Auto Parts — Local services in Mount Pleasant Township

After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous about making a 6 hr drive one way to get a motor I needed. I called several times before and during my trip and each time they answered my questions (nothing more/nothing less, but that's ok). Upon my arrival, I was quite impressed with their operation and you can tell this is no hillbilly operation. I told them what I was there for, they looked it up, called the warehouse to have it pulled, I paid, asked for directions back to the turnpike and went to the warehouse for the motor.. The warehouse was quite impressive, very organized and clean. The guy who loaded the motor in my truck was also very professional. I wanted to keep the skid it was in and they charged me $20 for the skid, but no big deal.. I didn't argue about it.. I was also concerned that the motor had the mileage they stated it had. They gave me the VIN number of the car it came out of so I could carfax it for my records. I havnt put the engine in the car yet, but really dont expect...

Not very customer friendly on the phone. My wife called and then I called 2 days later to confirm the part was there. After we were both told they had the part we drove nearly 2 hours to get it. Once there the man said he hasn't had the part in some time. I told him I had just called 2 hours earlier and was told they did have it. I even went as far as to confirm the correct phone number. He just walked behind the counter and mumbled something.

Lucky another salvage yard in the area had the part I needed so it wasn't a wasted trip. And as if my experience wasn't bad enough, I got a flat tire a couple miles down the road where I discovered I had picked up a nail. While I can't say for sure it came from there... It certainly didn't make things any better.

Honestly the service was just disappointing. The place seemed very well organized and you can tell they take pride in the appearance. It reminded me of my great grandfathers salvage yard. I hope he was just...

This place is a joke! I’ve been talking with the owner for the last 3 weeks to hold 2 wheels for me (he said he would hold), I’ve been calling every week to make sure they still have them because I was going to be picking up next week when I would be traveling to Hershey PA. I called today and talked to the owner son who said He has one on hold for another customer, he said I don’t know what my dad does and it wasn’t his problem to figure it out. Talk to the dad, supposedly the owner I guess. He tells me to go F off and go find them somewhere else.

I would have preferred to have the wheels shipped but they do not offer shipping. It would have worked out perfect while I would be traveling right through their area. On my way to Hershey.
