I grew up in Norvelt, but moved away years ago. Whenever I come back to visit family I always support local businesses, and this is why I went to Johnson's Hardware. On May 21st I dropped off a storm door window frame that needed the glass replaced. When I dropped it off the fellow said that it would be ready the next day and I would be called for pickup. No one called on the 22nd. On the 23rd I stopped in at Johnson's to check on the window. Marian said that it would be done today and that I would be called when completed. No call came on the 23rd so I stopped in the next day to find out the status of the window. Ron, a Johnson's employee, told me that the window was not ready and that it would be done "the next day or two". I couldn't wait another day or two so I asked Ron for the frame, and I would take it elsewhere. As my wife and I were explaining to Ron why we couldn't wait he just turned and walked away from us. If this is how customers are usually treated I can see why I never see many people shopping there! As we were walking out of the store with the frame Marian must have heard my wife and me talking about how disappointed we were in Johnson's Hardware customer service. Later that afternoon Marian called me and apologized for how we were treated. As far as we are concerned, Marian is an all-star. I have called in a few times and even stopped by and they have had no idea when it was coming in. I stopped in yet again today and spoke to the manager who had ordered it. He couldn't find my order and they didn't have any in stock yet again. He said that they had gotten the plexiglass in 3 weeks ago and assumed that my order was filled.    Read moreI was looking for a EGO mower late in the season and stopped in to see if they had one. The mower they had was mis-marked and wasn’t the one I was looking for. Cory B. (Store Manager) stepped in and ordered the mower and had it for me in 3 days at a very very fair price. I will be driving to Johnson’s for all my hardware needs, supporting local is important to me, and Cory’s attention and customer focus was much appreciated and gained a customer moving forward.
