DISCOUNT?? WELL....I've been to Mark's a handful of times, and if they wouldnt have a particular snack that I really like & nobody else carries, I probably wouldnt bother going there at all. There's nothing that really interests me there. Most of the things that I see on the shelf are brands that I've never, ever heard of! Not only that, but I can get some of those items, in more familiar brands, for a good bit less at other stores! One example that comes to mind, is their white chunk tuna in a can. 99 cents. I can go to Aldi, however, and their store brand for....66 cents?? Not to mention Aldi's product flies off the shelf at a much quicker pace than Mark's does. So alot less of a chance of getting bad code date items there. I've also noticed other items, that I know I could get fresher, and either cheaper, or for the same price, elsewhere. I'm not saying that Mark's is a terrible store. It's usually pretty busy. The workers are courteous, and, for the time being, it's convenient for people who dont want to run to Giant in Gettysburg, & pay crazy prices there. There's not really anybody close nearby, to compete with. At...
Read moreI would recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area to stop in, whether you're on a budget, as most of us are, or not, it's an excellent resource for good name brand, in date grocery items, fresh locally grown organic produce, frozen and refrigerated items, fresh off the farm eggs, bulk items, handcrafted furnishings and accents, and more. To give one example of the awesome savings at Mark's, how much do you pay normally for Turkey Hill ice cream? Hope you're sitting down... Mark's often has a running special where you can find a wide variety of flavors for either 5/$10 or 5/$11!!! That's just one example. The store is managed and owned by a Brethren or Mennonite family, and they are the nicest and most helpful people, who go above and beyond for their customers. That is why I would recommend this establishment to EVERYONE! Stop by...
Read moreI was there on 3 separate occasions. The 1st time I bought a watermelon, brought it home and cut it and it was all mushy inside. Went back the 2nd time and the same thing. I called to tell them and they were quite rude. Just got back from there the 3rd (and probably last time) and they had no paper towels to clean the cart. So I went in and told the old man working and he said if he gets time he'll go replace them. Really?? I said well, it's kind of important to take care of your customers and it would only take a minute . He just glared at me and turned his back and something to the girl on the register. They act all nice but I'm...
