I love Borzynski’s and have been a customer for over 30 years. They have unique gifts and the associates have always been helpful and friendly. That is until today. I had a baby clothing item to return that I purchased as a Christmas gift. I went there to make the return in January and the sign said closed for the winter. I stopped there today with my receipt from December that totaled $396 and the item I was returning was for $18. The two ladies at the counter were trying to figure out how to credit me since something on the receipt wasn’t showing up correctly. They said I may have to have a store credit instead of refund. I was perfectly fine with that because I was planning on looking around and most likely making a purchase anyway. They had to go ask Kristin the owner how to process the transaction. Meanwhile I shopped and had an item in my hand that was already halfway to the $18 price and had just started browsing. One of the ladies came back and very matter of factly said we can’t refund or in store credit. I couldn’t believe it. It’s not the $18 that is bothering me it’s the principle of the whole interaction. To me it’s a no brainer. As the store owner looking at a receipt totaling that much, a store credit would have been the right thing to do. I worked in customer service my whole career and it saddens me that this is the future. The customer definitely isn’t first any more. Maybe that is why I was the only customer in the store and they have permanently lost my...
Read moreBorzynski's Farm & Floral Market: Borzynski Farms has its origins in Sturtevant, Wisconsin but the family run business now also has farms in IL, GA, and TX. I visited the location in the village of Mount Pleasant (near Racine, WI) to check out their 8-acre corn maze. The theme this year is the Loch Ness Monster, but I wouldn't let the theme influence you either way as it did not have a significant impact on the experience. The maze is divided up into different sections/quadrants that can easily be identified by different colored (blue, yellow, white, and green) strips running throughout the maze. The colors don't ruin the level of difficulty; they simply let you know that you are progressing into the next section and are really something of a safety measure. I moved at a relatively brisk pace and was unencumbered by small children. That said, it took me approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete, walking roughly three miles. I thought it was a neat experience, and it gave me a nice touch of nostalgia as I haven't done a corn maze since I was a kid. I recommend checking it out, but I think it would be challenging to do at night or with children requiring a stroller as the ground is obviously dirt and not even. *Also make sure to use the restroom...
Read moreI was a costumer but I will no longer will be one, after Borzynski's double charged me for a purchase I made back on September 11. I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Borzynski's sent the request documentation and buried the duplicate charge on the 9th page, under the heading of non related dispute charge. The 2nd receit clearly showed duplicate charges, with 2 different authorization codes. That day I had to swipe my card multiple times becaues their machine wouldn't read it. I know I also have a problem with my credit card company not scrutinizing the documents they received from Borzynski's, but Borzynski's did me dirty by not looking at their own detailed receipts. I have reopened my...
