Weis Markets — Local services in Mount Union

No stars. Worst experience I have ever had there. I have spent a lot of money at this store but it will take a lot for me ever to go back. I was in line at a checkout ( only one open). Was told by cashier "she" not sure who "she" was since no one was at the register, would check me out in the 5th lane. So I move over to the register and start putting my purchase on the counter. Another employee comes over and says just for future reference and points to the light and says "the light isn't on" in a not so nice tone. I then said just for your future reference I was told to come over here.

I started throwing all my stuff back in the cart and she said " I will check you out" I said " no you won't " and when back to line I was in, checked out and i left.

It would have been fine to say I am sorry this register is closed. I did not need to be told about the light not being on. Maybe they should have a little sign to set on the counter saying this register is closed, if this is a common problem for them.

I am someone who follows rules. I don't take more than 20 items to the Express I do not go to registers that the light is not on. I thought maybe they had someone coming up to open that register.

Sorry you will not get my business any more. Embarrassing and frustrating when I was following instructions. The tone she used seemed arrogant to me. Maybe she didn't mean to sound that way, but she didn't have to point to the light and say " for future reference.

Today I had a disappointing and frankly disrespectful experience at Weis Market. I used the self-checkout to purchase cream cheese and Tostito chips, paid with cash, and received my receipt without issue. Moments later, an employee approached me without saying a word, grabbed my bag, and said, “That’s weird,” as if I had done something wrong.

I had to snatch my bag back and tell her clearly, “I pay cash for my stuff.” I shouldn’t have to justify myself just because I live in a town where people apparently aren’t used to seeing Black customers or folks who don’t use government assistance. The employee’s behavior was invasive, rude, and completely uncalled for.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and training at this store. Everyone deserves to shop without being profiled or...

Even though this store is smaller than other Weis stores I have been to, the employees here are very kind and hardworking! As far as their prices go, it's really across the board here. Sometimes, when items are too high priced, you can come in on a different day and get a MUCH better price, especially when the item has been marked down. With that said, I have gotten some surprisingly good deals on some products here! Always keep an eye out. Even if something may seem overpriced, you might get a great deal on another product to help...
