Quite possibly the rudest, most anti-customer service staff I've ever seen at a nursery. We have spent many THOUSANDS there as landscapers and will not ever again after this latest apathetic treatment. Over the years, it’s clear to my husband, my neighbors and myself that 95% of their people on the grounds couldn’t be bothered to greet or speak to customers, much less have any interest in helping them find anything, and are more irritated than anything that you ask them. Literally they look right through you. Two years of shopping at this place and maybe one out of 20 visits will anyone be in the least bit kind to you…and that includes the owner, who you’d think would be wanting to set an example by greeting customers. Instead, he and the rest of the team are too busy rearranging the plants every two weeks, cramming some in so close they are in terrible health, and filling the place up with well known invasives, from Scotch Broom to English Ivy to St Johns Wort (yes, they ARE invasive, no matter what his response claims). And quite hilarious that even in the tulip capital of the state, their selection in fall is literally worse than what’s at Fred Meyer (obviously I’m not talking about today’s inventory!). Yikes. Their roses are priced (for the same brand) $10 more than any other, and their “rose list” is a total lie. But when you drive down there multiple times and can’t find the ones they claim to sell, can’t find anyone to help you when you’re there because they apparently don’t care enough about hiring people who give a damn about helping customers, they don’t respond to the ‘contact us’ form on their website (why have one if you ignore the emails?), their ‘wish list’ they claim to put you on is a total joke (why? we’ve asked about something, the person’s never heard of it, we ask THEM to call us when it comes in, and never hear back - then happen to stumble upon it ourselves - or worse, a different employee will then say ‘we never carry that’), and on the phone all they say is “oh gee you’ll just have to check back, not sure when we’ll get it” then say they will NOT honor their 20% off rose sale if it doesn’t come in on time, even though they’ve clearly lied about their rose inventory right on their website (and no, it doesn’t say on the list that they’re not all in stock)? Enough is enough. Gladly will take our business full time down to Sunnyside Nursery, where they give a damn about honesty, have plant quality, care about sustainability, and hire staff who actually like people (and who are paid more than...
Read moreChristianson's Nursery is hands down one of my favorite places to spend my money.
As a patron their plant selection is splendid. I'm a big house plant person and many of my plants are all 5+ years old and thriving. Their retail store is equally wonderful. From awesome little artsy pieces, to my favorite paddy wax candles. I always make sure to grab some of their Christmas ornaments and a wreath during the holiday season as well.
As a photographer, it's one of my most cherished places to take photos. I always try to be super courteous, and respectful of other customers. and always shoot in the latest part of their open hours. This place is so stunningly beautiful and I find a new favorite nook or corner of this property every time I visit. If you're another photographer and reading this; make sure you buy a plant or urge your client to buy one too. This place is a special gem, and we're SO LUCKY to get to use their space for our business.
I will always recommend Christianson's Nursery. They are not the least expensive place in town, but you will find healthy, hardy plants, nice employees, (a really cute fat + furry black cat, and lots of doves, and other animals) and a really great experience as a regular ol' plant person, or as a photographer.

Read moreWe absolutely loved having our wedding at Christianson's Nursery. Not only is the location beautiful and charming, the staff are all top notch. All throughout the planning process, Emma (Event Coordinator) was extremely responsive and incredibly helpful, answering any and all questions we had. When our wedding day rolled around, the local weather ended up not panning out as forecasted. We ended up with a beautifully damp PNW ceremony (it rained the entire time, which we ended up loving), but that inevitably required many last-minute changes for our reception. This could have been stressful, but Emma and the other staff at Christianson's navigated those challenges in the rain, with grace and a smile! Emma's calm, positive attitude, and her ability to work effectively with our day of coordinator made all the difference for us and our guests. We are so grateful for all their hard work and were so impressed by how smoothly everything went, considering all the rain challenges, and how wonderfully they helped...
