Our granddaughter had such a good time here with her preschool class that we wanted to see it too, and take her back. The rain stopped and the sun came out and it was perfect for a visit. There are several photo ops set up to get great pictures of yourself or your kids or the whole family. There are hundreds of pumpkins & squashes around, beautiful displays with glorious fall colors. They also have apples, potatoes, winter carrots, leeks, decorative corn and apple cider. We enjoyed the different displays and the haunted barn and the little shops with fall decor to purchase, the produce and cider. A favorite was the little stand with small pumpkins, carrots and leeks, then the back wall in a blackboard with a recipe featuring pumpkin. Today's recipe was for pumpkin soup. I got a picture of the recipe, and pumpkin, leeks & carrots to make the soup. Summer is 2 and she was delighted to see her preschool teacher there, also visiting with her family. We saw another family we know, and Summer enjoyed seeing all the other kids there today. They have big wheelbarrows you can use to haul pumpkins + squash to your car, several families had their kids riding in them, they were having a ball. The staff is very helpful, making sure people are getting carts/wheelbarrows if they need them, and finding different displays or activities. There are 2 cashiers at peak visitor times, so don't worry if the line seems long, it moves quickly. Cashiers were helpful and pleasant as well, keeping the lines moving smoothly. On our way out I found a dried flower bundle I wanted for a project and didn't worry about getting back in line to pay, it took mere minutes. There were flocks of geese and swans flying overhead, so many beautiful trees and scenes for photos. We spent a couple of hours enjoying the atmosphere and getting pictures. What a great place for a fun family activity! Not supposed to be much rain this week--I highly recommend Gordon Skagit Farms. Even if the weather isn't ideal the main areas are pretty free of mud and you'll still have...
Read moreThis is the best pumpkin patch around. No entry fee, no "carnivalized" games and activities. It does get busy so going first thing in the morning is essential. And they open pretty early, at 9:00 am everyday, which helps with that. It's the perfect combination of "go out in the muddy field and pick your own pumpkins" and beautifully curated/aesthetic bins of pumpkins and gourds (and apples and flowers) back in the main market area. There's delicious cider and snacks, and you can take a gallon of the cider home with you. Local honey for sale, and some other farm produce (potatoes, kale, etc). Delightful old trucks and farm machinery covered with pumpkins and beautiful paintings for those photo opportunities. And a whole shed for drying flowers where you can get a beautiful handmade wreath. Most years there's a corn maze too, though not this year. We've been coming for 10 years and will keep coming....
Read moreThis was the BEST by far of anyplace in the area.. We had plenty of room to move around even though the place was very full and busy.. The best part was how NICE all the workers were.. They actually took time to look at you, smile, answer questions and just be genuinely nice. The set up is very well planned out for ease of moving.. You have carts to haul your pumpkins, squash, apples or gifts in. The prices are very good..products are great.. The family owned farm is clean, neat, and very inviting.. We came from the mid west where there are many pumpkin patch/apple orchard establishments and were very impressed with this place. It is the FIRST one out here that made us feel welcomed and we will be coming back to them a lot..Just remembering the day makes me smile.. and that is a great customer response to ensure...
