We recently moved to Mount Vernon from Boise, Idaho. My wife's desktop computer had suffered from serious performance issues for months, but we decided to address the issue after our relocation, since we were hoping to find a reliable local computer service. Fortunately, we found Ed Rossal and PC New Horizons.
Ed came to our home (right on time) and gave us a preliminary diagnosis, along with his estimate for improving our computer's performance. Part of it involved the purchase of additional RAM, which he ordered on the spot from Crucial. After reviewing the estimate with us, we wrote a check to cover the costs of the additional memory, and Ed took our computer back to his workshop. Within a couple of days we had an email updating us on his progress, and a few days after that we received another email to let us know that he had received the RAM and would install it -- at which point we could pick up our computer or have him deliver it. We chose the former option, since we wanted to see his workshop.
We picked up our computer on a Saturday afternoon, at which time Ed went through all the steps he had taken with our computer, as well as the applications he had installed on a trial basis that would allow us to maintain the computer's performance as well as protect it from spyware and malware. We went through a final review of Ed's invoice (which was as detailed as you would want), paid our balance...and enjoyed a cup of Guatemalan coffee with him and his wife. Icing on the cake.
Since having our computer back home, we have seen a huge improvement in its performance. Ed recommended the eventual replacement of our hard drive as well, since he detected early signs that it is wearing out. We plan to have him take care of this in the next few months, and will continue to use PC New Horizons not only for servicing our HP desktop, but for my MacBook Pro as well.
Ed provided exactly the kind of service you would want and expect from any professional: competence, clarity, timely communication, equitable pricing, and a clear zeal for making the customer's experience not only pleasant, but delightful. I don't easily give out 5-star ratings, but my initial experience with Ed Rossal and PC New Horizons warrants this one.

Read moreI was given Ed's name at Pc New Horizons from a very reputable reference so I felt more confident from the beginning that he would "treat me right". I told him out the gate that I was recently retired, having used computers for 45 years of my employment years, but that I had bare knowledge as to what makes the computer "tick", and was embarrassed to admit I fell for being duped into doing a download on my home computer that rendered it too fearful to use. He was totally understanding, patient, and easy to understand in his description of what had happened with my home computer system. All I knew when I called Ed was that for the first time in my life, letting my guard down on my own personal computer, put it in a state of grave compromise because I fell for what was touted as a "free download"..... Well, hard lesson learned after giving in foolishly, nothing good becomes of something free. From the beginning, I placed total trust in what Ed felt was the best approach to fix my computer which was drastically compromised beyond my ability to safely use it. He advised that my system was definitely worth saving but that it needed to be totally wiped clean. He also advised me of an update to a solid state drive that improved my computer's speed unbelievably so AND assisted me in knowing what kind of back up equipment to put in place which I had never addressed following my original purchase-- another bad on my part. Ed is very knowledgeable, provides a quick turnaround time, professional through and through, and understanding. He turned a situation that I was dreading to deal with into an unbelievable painless experience both personally and monetarily. I would DEFINITELY encourage everyone to check Pc New Horizons out no matter your need. You won't be...
Read moreWhen my home computer started acting up to the point that I was freaking out because I was sure it was going to completely crash any second and I would lose all my pictures, which I foolishly didn’t have backed up, I knew just who to call. I first met Ed Rossal when he worked on my computer at work. I had been having recurring issues for a few months and numerous IT people had worked on my computer and declared the issues resolved but the issues either weren’t resolved or other issues would then pop up right away. I was quite frustrated by the time Ed came to my rescue.
Ed carefully listened to me and directly observed the problems and was very methodical in diagnosing the issues. He did some major work on it and before he left my office, he had me log into and test all the different programs and applications I use to do my job. That has been well over a year ago and I have not had a single computer issue since. So, when this home computer situation arose, I contacted Ed at Pc New Horizons. He couldn’t have been more accommodating or reassuring.
Ed took my computer and worked his magic and I now have it back and it is running amazingly fast and everything is so much less frustrating for me because he has updated what needed updating and resolved every single thing that was wrong. I didn’t realize how many workarounds I had created for myself because I couldn’t figure out how to resolve things. He explained everything, in lay language, and I feel very relieved to not only have this immediate “computer crisis” averted but to finally feel like I have technical support I can trust and count on going forward. I would highly recommend Pc...
