DG Market — Local services in Mountainburg

Most of the women who work here are incredibly nice. HOWEVER, don't try to ever take anything back. I had a horrible experience. You would think with the price you pay for less than mediocre products, this company would be fully prepared to receive the returns, but either management was in a bad frame of mind or they are being told not to except returns as much as possible.

Unfortunately, their return policy is NOT printed on the back of their receipt. I hate to sound bitter b/c that takes away from the credibility of the review, but I would think leaving the terms off of the receipt is a little slick. It's not as long as you'd think, and you soon find out that it's on a sign that they SOMETIMES have posted on the counter. I brought in a few products that I never ever set my hands on. Bought them as a joke for an adults birthday and chose not to give them to her. I work 65 hours a week and never came back in to return until a couple weeks later give or take. The lady behind the counter basically said she didn't think she could take this back seeing as it had been so long. I asked how long was too long. She couldn't tell me, she just said it basically was just that it had been so long.

She then called her manager on the phone. Her mngr told me to come in tomorrow. At this point, it was more for the concept than the cash. I came in again after realizing none of them even knew their own return policy. The manager then said, "what are you doing bringing anything in this late?!" I was incredibly taken back. Was it any of her business what I was doing? Anyhow, She had to look at their sign which was facing backwards for no one to read to understand the return policy and because I had to come back in to see her, I was then too late to get a refund regardless.

I then stated what happened with her cashier two nights before and she said, "I know, I recorded the whole thing once she called me with you standing there and I watched it today." Again, over a measly return, the dollar general clerk was recording me. I guess it was the highlight of the day. I felt very disrespected and felt like a stand in for making her feel better about herself. Sometimes, you just have to give...

So happy that we have some produce (sometimes) and some salad, potatoes, meats, etc - We have needed it, ever since our grocer closed. The store is clean- and some things stay stocked - YET- other sections seem to NEVER get stocked - & other sections SELDOM get stocked- idk why......

The EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY & HELPFUL! The things that are in stock, seem to get onto the shelves in a reasonable amount of time. (I used to work at the Mtburg DG, back not too long after it just opened - (the 1st one)

The SELF CHECKOUT was SO AWESOME - But it got closed down COMPLETELY- due to some apparent SHOPLIFTERS - Apparently it will NEVER be reopened - after spending all the money to get them put in- we have to wait in ONE long line for the ONE checker - while we stare at all 4 of the SELF CHECKOUT registers 😭😭😭 I wish they would set up security cameras to take care of security so we can USE the SELF CHECKOUT!!! ?! (HINT HINT) because somehow- all the other stores can police their merchandise..... Walmart records everything ! Please tell the district manager to FIND THE BUDGET FOR SOME SECURITY CAMERAS!?

Best Dollar General I know of. Newer store with employee's that are at home here and know every inch of this store. Fast check out with enough staff your never held up. Very clean store. You have to ask for the bathroom key at check out. This assures you this bathroom is spotless and cleaned often. Warm hometown feel in this location. It's not directly off the interstate. A mile maybe off the Mountainburg exit. A beautiful mile with no stop lights or even other traffic for the most part. A straight shot. Give it a chance to show its southern charm Nestled in a picture perfect valley you look around in this parking lot and feel as if your in a large bowl.
