I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible experience I had. When I adopted Scout from here, last year, the moment I stepped into the shelter, it was evident that this place was more than just a home for animals; it was a haven for dogs and cats. This shelter and the volunteers ensure that the dogs and cats are placed in a loving home and do everything to rehabilitate them from any injury, trauma, and medical issues they have had or been through.
The volunteers are nothing short of incredible. I am amazed by their selflessness and genuine love for the animals. They truly spend all of their free time to ensure the well-being of the animals under their care.
The volunteers went above and beyond to make the adoption process a smooth and heartwarming experience. They patiently answered all my questions, they genuinely cared about finding the perfect match for both the pet and the adopter.
Scout, who has brought so much joy and love into my life, is a testament to the exceptional work of It's Raining Cat's and Dog's. He has been my ESA for the last year now and I truly don't know how I could have done life without him. I wholeheartedly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to add a new member to their family, you will not find a team of volunteers that care more about...
Read moreStay away from this place, was interested in a wheaten terrier with heartworms, was told that “he is heartworm positive and would need to undergo treatment. I told them that it’s not a problem, I work nights so I have all day for vet visits, and my partner gets home an hour after I leave for work. They insist of 4-5 months of him staying completely calm. “Even a walk around the neighborhood is too much activity”, I told them it’s no problems since it’s only me and my partner at the house. I was warned that “he’s also an escape artist”and was later denied due to “not having a back yard and being 2 hours away from their vet” I offered to even pay for heartworm meds and it’s ridiculous that we have to have a back yard to own this dog, I stay in an upper middle class neighborhood full of dr’s, lawyer, and vets. There’s plenty of room for dog activities, my neighborhood is full of families and their dogs, 2 dog parks, 2500sqf house….. I’ve owned 3 wheatens in the past, I’ve verified my vet visits with them, I’ve also explained to them that I’ve got over 15 acres in f family land I travel to on the weekend, it’s ridiculous that this rescue has the most unrealistic expectations and would keep a dog away from a...
Read moreI had the honor of visiting this rescue on Friday. I have worked with many rescues and heard about this one and wanted to visit. Laura and staff are amazing! They have taken on some of the most heartbreaking cases I have ever seen. I watched Laura work with dogs who were learning to socialize and she was just incredibly patient and calm, and the animals respond to her with such affection! When you walk in, if you have never been to a shelter before you may be overwhelmed with all that is going on there, but what an amazing staff of hard working dedicated people! If you are looking to adopt a dog or cat, please visit here.... there are cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes and energy levels... some who will need more attention and help than others, but I am positive Laura and staff will help you find the right fit... and if you can't adopt, possibly foster or even just a small donation... I am told they have a wish list and you can even shop on amazon and have it delivered! ...
