Countryside Golf Club — Local services in Mundelein

We signed up for the chili scramble for a day of fun competition. What we got was a cold, rainy, windy miserable golf day. You’d think the scramble would’ve been cancelled but for some reason (greed) it wasn’t cancelled and we were forced to play in the terrible conditions. They already had our money ($50), and they refused to refund us. We called ahead when it was pouring rain and they informed us that it’s still on and said “people have to stop calling” in a rude tone. Yeah pouring rain is perfect golf weather (major sarcasm).

When we were waiting for the weather to improve, I saw many people leave. My friends and I quit after 5 holes because we were so miserable, we then went to get chili Bc we were cold as could be and they gave us minimal chili and hestitated at a 2nd bowl even tho they just made bank off the chili scramble (and chili is so cheap!). All in all never will I ever return to this course, I used to always come here with my grandpa but not anymore. I won’t support an establishment that is greedy and doesn’t care about its customers. I tried to book labor day morning tee time for 4 people through club website. After entering credit card number and submission, it was stuck there forever. Called course direct line and a lady picked up. She checked and told me there was another group booking at the same on the same tee time and that could be the reason my process never end. She told me there was earlier slot open but I told her that I can't find that online. She helped book that spot and she even can find my account and email address. Today in the morning, when my friend went there earlier and he was told there was no such booking. Our planned 4-people labor day outing is totally screwed. After further check with the front desk, we found out the tee time booking is outsourced to a company in Chicago so even you dial club direct line, it will be transferred to 3rd party for tee booking. It seems this 3rd party is doing kind of airline style double booking things or its booking system has faulty setup (how the system can accept multi groups booking at the same time for one spot?). I played here 10 days ago, on a golf trip with a couple of fraternity brothers. We had the pleasure of playing both courses and they were both in excellent shape and we had a lot of fun. The next morning, I realized that I had left my rangefinder on one of the carts. I called the next day after I had arrived back in Tampa where I live. I spoke with a gentleman named David at the club and told him about me leaving the rangefinder and he had told me they had it. I left him with my address and I received it today!
