Tatyana Merryman is sheer genious when it comes to dress alterations. If you are looking for someone to alter your dress, PLEASE GO SEE TATYANA MERRYMAN!! She is the sweetest person and will keep you laughing the whole time that you are there. If I was to tell anyone to put full faith in a person for dress alterations, it would be her. You will not be disappointed. She will tell you exactly what needs to be done, work with you on a budget, and let you decided if you like the changes or want additional changes.

I had bought a wedding dress that I really liked. However, it was too big, too long, and the top was a halter (I don't care for halters on myself). Basically, I got this dress, because I was in LOVE with the skirt of the dress. However, Tatyana totally transformed my dress into a one of a kind. I could not ask for anything better. First, she changed the halter top into straps for me. Then, she removed some extra lace that was already on the dress and made it match the detailing on the rest of the dress. I still to this day have no idea where she removed the lace from my dress. After the straps, she tore apart the whole top and hand restiched every bead and peice of lace. She put in countless hours on my dress, and it showed. After she made the alterations, I came in for my fitting. I got it on and fell in love with it. However, she pointed out that some boning to the dress was sticking out just a small bit ( I never would have noticed ). She thought it could look better, and redone the dress a second time. Also, she pointed out that the veil I has purchased was on a plastic comb, and that it was not staying in my hair properly. She took the veil apart and reset it on a metal comb to help it stay secure in my hair. Anything that I wanted she done. Anything that needed to be done that I didn't think of, she mentioned and done for me. She made my dress absolutely perfect.

Also, she understands that budget is very important. Before we made any alterations, she showed me what all would need to be done to the dress, the cost, and what she would suggest altering first. She gave me different cost options to as many alterations as possible to help save me the most money. I really felt that she cared and understood. She wanted the best alterations for the price that I had.

Cannot say enough good about Tatyana Merryman. For our Vow Renewal (after 12 years of marriage) my husband & I agreed to have my gown custom made. It was a pretty big budget splurge, BUT the end result was worth it. She worked with me to choose a gown style that was modest & complimented my “girlish mom figure”. At 40 years young, I wanted a gown that wasn’t “mother of the bride-ish” but also not the look/feel of a 23 year old bride either. I wanted it to fit my personality, my age & the occasion. She was very attentive to my needs, preferences & ideas. Tatyana would educate me on why a certain aspect was (or was not) a good fit for my body shape. She educated me & explained fabrics & things that you wouldn’t necessarily think about. It was made with high quality Japanese Satan & hand made French lace. The feel of the gown was just buttery soft & it was everything I dreamed it would be & then some. Working together, we nailed the gown!!

She is knowledgeable & skilled in her craft. I’ve never had anything custom made, so this was out of the norm for me, but now I have a stunning gown thats a generational heirloom piece that my daughter or anyone else could use down the line.

She is a consummate professional & offers a lot of life wisdom beyond dress making & alterations. I truly Enjoyed the experience of designing my gown - from inception to completion. Tatyana was an absolute pleasure to work with. I got started on my dress a little late in the game, but she made sure my dress turned out perfectly, and on time. Her boutique is extremely cute and comfortable, and she really knows what she is doing.

Her prices were a little high, but fair, as my dress did need a lot of difficult work (replacing about 30 buttons, replacing a zipper, and lots of work with beading, crystals, and tulle) and she knew exactly what she was doing.

I cannot stress how gorgeous my dress was; I received a million compliments! She happened to have a beautiful belt on display that I just had to have, and she was able to add it to my gown seamlessly; you can't even tell any additional work was done - it matched that well.

She also creates custom veils (and dresses) and had a few available, including one that matched my dress perfectly; I purchased the veil as well as a beaded comb that matched the veil and my dress. (She also has quite a few garters and different hair pieces to choose from (clips, barrettes, combs, etc.)

My dress required extensive alterations so she offered me a discount on my veil and comb and I am so glad I decided to go with those rather than a generic one that didn't match as well.

Tatyana was a dream to work with, whether in her boutique or even communicating via email. I never had to play the waiting game, and knew what was happening with my dress at all times. I am so glad that I trusted her to make my dream dress a reality!
