Back in July, my Aunt Linda Simmons had a reservation and had paid 1600 dollars all together for a trip for her and her siblings (as they do annually). A week prior to the trip, she found out that her brother, Jimmy, had a decline in his health. She tried calling and spoke to a female and a male named Brian who both informed her that there was nothing they good do about refunding any if not all the money due to his health conditions. Well, my Uncle Jimmy dies a week later. I tried calling myself to speak to a “Gary” to inform him of the issue we were experiencing, in hopes that someone at this company would be understanding and considerate due to the unforeseen circumstance of the cancellation requested. I’ve called for the last 8 weeks. The first time (which was a weekend) the young lady said that Gary wouldn’t be in until that Monday and that he would be able to return my call at that time. When I didn’t hear from him by that Wednesday, I called again and Brian answered. When I explained to him the circumstances, he said there was nothing they could do and that she should’ve paid for insurance. When I asked to speak to the owner, Brian said that there was no need to speak to him because he would tell me the same thing. So I asked still if I could at least get the opportunity to speak to him and he said that he would take my number and give it to “Gary” but it wouldn’t guarantee a call back. So I still try to remain hopeful, thinking that “if I could just speak to the owner, I pray that he will give us the opportunity to address this and have a heart of compassion being that he was the owner”. So I waited a week and called back after I didn’t hear anything and the female answered. I asked her if I could speak to Gary because I keep leaving messages for him to just give me a call back and she said that Gary was in a meeting and that as soon as he got out, she’d give him the message. So a week went by and still no phone call. So I called again, Brian answered. I asked him from the jump if I could speak to Gary. He asked “is there something I could help you with”. I chose to say no, I’ve been told that I needed to speak to Gary; in hopes that he wouldn’t remember who I was and just give Gary the message, not knowing that I was the same person who had been calling and potentially face him not giving the message to him. Of course, I was told that he would relay the message. There were about 3 calls since then. The very last call was Friday when I spoke to that same female and this time she told me that Gary won’t talk to me, he has to speak to the person who has the reservation. However, I told her that both the person who made the reservations (my Aunt) and myself have been calling since July and haven’t been able to even speak to Gary about this matter. My Aunt and I are both retired Army Veterans and I don’t think we’ve ever felt this insignificant in our lives. I’ve been told so many different things over the last 8 weeks but none of the calls has initiated a successful call back or solution/consideration. As if loosing my Uncle Jimmy wasn’t hard enough and my Aunt losing her brother, she also lost $1605.00 for a vacation that was never utilized. The treatment has me in tears because I seriously don’t understand why this has happened to our family. To date, we don’t even know if we will ever receive a resolution. As stated before, this was an unforeseen circumstance and was hoping to at least have the opportunity to even speak with the owner about this. At that time, the reservation was made in good faith and with complete expectations of having a beautiful vacation. However, my Aunt (who the reservation is under) nor myself have not been able to even advocate for ourselves or to see if any type of exception could be made in as a “case by case” type of basis. I understand that you may not be able to talk to me every single time I’ve called, but, she has tried reaching you as well and we haven’t received a call back by the person we’ve been requesting...
Read moreA group of us (5 couples) spent w/e of 04/22 at OutLaw Ridge. Lovely place except 2 issues; .. the minor issue is the directions needs updating. We would have enjoyed the drive there had we not spend our time paying attention to the "written" instruction that said "don't use GPS". Our GPS took us right onto the property. ...we were the last ones to arrive, and was assigned one of the 2 rooms upstairs...OH..before I get into that..let me say .. the Cottage was very nice. nice decor etc. we didn't use the Jacuzzi as it wasn't cleaned of the pollen - so you could see the pollen on the bottom - no fault to the owners - recon i would suggest to let the renters turn it on if they want to use it. The major issue was with the room - when I enter a guest room, bathroom is first place I look, and this bath room was overall clean, until i moved back the shower curtain - not only it wasn't cleaned, there was a lot of dead bugs and BEES in it.. I thought ok - that's clean(able).. walking back into the room - i felt like i was walking on pop corn ..so i turned on the bed side lamp (bath room light was on) OMG .. HUNDREDS OF DEAD BEES on the floor, on the bed, on the window sill ..eww.. i ran out called the others .. the owners were called 2xs and messages left - They were called again the next day. I gathered that he said something about Cabin in the woods - wait but the other rooms were clean .. anyway since i did not directly handle the booking I allowed the person who did to communicate with him. We sent them pictures and videos, I had taken during the discovery of the insects. I ended up stripping the bed and pillows - found some fabric softer and bleach in the laundry cabinet, I washed and dried the bed linen - replaced them (by then, it was way pass 2.00am). Since being made aware, the owner has offered NO compensation - but offered discount on the next visit to the cabin.....well sir, this time determines the next time..there is no excuse for uncleaned insect infested room and bathroom - I left work, drove 2.5hrs .. tired, I had to WASH a DIRTY bathroom, wash bed linen and sweep HUNDREDS of dead Bees..before I could get some rest and enjoy your cabin.. on my Birthday weekend - Please make it right!
05/05/22 Dear Mr. Cabin owner, it is clear from your tone you will not accept that your cabin was not cleaned properly to accept guests.. you are blaming me the guest who had to clean the room that clearly had some sort infestation. (pictures uploaded). You said i "claimed the bath was dirty, but did not send pics..but Mr. Cabin owner, I sent you videos of us washing the bathroom down with all the dead bugs!!!!!. In fact we sent maybe 8 picture and videos...enough evidnce . The photo of the bathroom you asked for was blurry.. (the whole experience was squirmish!.).. Also, you stated, it's not a hotel..but a home...don't you clean your home of dead inserts before renting it out?... Funny how you consider the HUNDREDS OF DEAD BEES and bugs all over THE BED, FLOOR, the window edge in bath and bed room..as NORMAL..AND HENCE THE BED LINEN DIDN'T NEED TO BE STRIPPED and laundered ..?..i don't know if you sleep with bugs..I sure do not.... side bar - once my phone was charged..we discovered the blurred photos, we responded to you to let you know and sent the video as stated above! I have loads of other. Photos and videos.with bugs everywhere!!. I posted some of those videos.. You were called the the night of the incident and again in morning. It was my birthday...and I has up 2am cleaning a room I paid for so I could sleep. I good host would have , apologized and make it right. With all the evidence that was sent to you..you are making...
Read moreLet me start off by saying this, If there is ANY chance the size of your party might change, rent elsewhere. We booked a beautiful 5 bedroom cabin with these guys a while back. When we had last minute people join in on our getaway we were prepared (the exact reason we rented such a spacious cabin in the first place) come to find out, the cabin fair, even for a 5 bedroom cabins does not include 10 guests. Be prepared to shell out approximately double of what you were originally quoted if you plan on each room being occupied. I read in an earlier review, that this was to allow parties of 4 to rent the cabin out at a "fair" and "lower price" mind you this cabin, before all of the additional charges for "extra" guests, cleaning, etc, is NOT CHEAP. Perhaps you should base your rates on how many people your cabins can appropriately accommodate and give discounts for smaller parties since you guys are so considerate! It's quite nonsensical really. On another note, the only reason this became an issue - that we had two guests (couples) per room is because this company has cameras on every cabin (yikes). My friends and I rent cabins as often as possible and this is truly a first! Apparently the fact that the cabins are loaded with cameras is mentioned somewhere?! Had I have seen this prior, there is absolutely NO WAY I would have booked with Cabin rentals of Georgia. The company has stated that this is to protect from theft (isn't that what a security deposit is for?) And to ensure safety for the guests. The safety "concern" is probably the most comical. If you guys are really concerned with safety, you could save the money from all those cameras and hire someone to blow the wet falls leaves off of the slick pavement so your guests can get on and off the mountain safely. With steep drops on the left and right side of the road, and wet leaves COVERING the paved road, it was nearly impossible for not only one, but two of our cars to leave the cabin. We hoped to make our way into town for a local festival that was going on but our cars could not get out, when it was time to leave we were forced to power through it and I must say that it was extremely terrifying and something I would never want to experience again - our fellow guests were stuck trying to leave for 45 minutes as they used their hands and feet to push what wet leaves they could to the side. If you are to spend your money with this company during the gorgeous fall months, sigh*, please make sure you have 4 wheel drive, I can't imagine a family with small children putting themselves at risk due to negligence. Last but not least, with such a hefty cleaning fee, please clean the thousands of dead lady bugs and lizards that are throughout the cabin once you spray. I know now to never book with this company again and will make sure to warn all friends about this company when they are looking for a cabin rental - I wish these reviews were here prior to spending thousands of dollars with these guys. My recommendation is to spend your hard earned dollars with a company that isn't as shady and runs its business with a...
