My husband and I just returned from a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of the highlights of our trip was discovering the opening of the Kerith Winery. We spent a delightful afternoon sampling Georgia wines and brought home two bottles of our favorites. We chatted with the owners and received a wonderful tour from Scott, their wine expert. (I am not sure what his correct title is.) It was interesting to hear and see how the wines are fermented and hear of the future plans for the development and harvest as well. Scott is obviously a knowledgeable connoisseur and maker of wines while being kind and friendly. The grounds and winery are lovely. The owners and staff are all friendly and excited to offer and share their wines and winery with warmth and no hint of condescension that is exhibited at some wineries I have visited in the past. And yet the Kerith House is first class. The winery is decorated beautifully with art work upstairs and down. One may relax inside or outside while sampling wines and cheeses or other delicacies. We look forward to visiting again when we return to Blue Ridge Mountains...
Read moreOur fun-loving group of four visited Kerith House last week and were amazed at the beauty - beauty of the buildings, the landscaping, the layout of the vineyard, the bee hives and rolling hills. The terrific staff and owners are all so friendly and customer oriented it felt that we were all family. And, then there were the wonderful wines. I was especially impressed with the wine maker, Scott, who gave us a tour - Wow! That guy is a North Georgia treasure - he’s so humble, but seems to know so much about everything and especially wine - it’s just fun listening to him talk. And, the interior decorating - at least the items I asked about - were all designed by and made the owner, Beth, and they are just amazing. She is a true artist. (Just look at how impressively she covered the required fire extinguishers with an antique grandfather clock.) I will visit this winery every time to go to the North Georgia Mountains! Thanks to all the staff for making our afternoon so fun, informative...
Read moreI was in the area for Mercier Orchards and decided to swing by Kerith House Winery to check out this new spot. It’s still early days for them, but they’re off to a good start.
They don’t have their food license yet, so just a heads-up—no kitchen service for now. But they do offer prepackaged meats and cheeses you can buy, which is a nice touch if you want something to nibble on while you sip. We opted not to do order snacks.
I ordered a wine flight served in cute little glass containers and genuinely enjoyed all of them. I also tried the fall sangria—festive and not overly sweet, with real apple slices and a cinnamon stick. Perfect for the season.
I sat outside in the early afternoon and loved the peaceful vibe. Plenty of outdoor seating, and from the quick peek I got inside, the interior looks beautifully done. I’ll definitely explore more next time.
Overall, it’s a charming stop if you’re already...
