TERRIBLE experience with this club. My son and I played there around 730PM and we walked AND paid full price. We carry 1.3 and 8.3 handicaps so we are decent golfers and we were playing very quickly. We got to hole 7 to hit our 30 yard approach shots when a guy rode up in a golf cart, without notice, and shouted "hey guys, pick up your balls and get in the cart." I said "we still have 2 holes left and there's at least 20 minutes of light left." This guy (older, with glasses) says "nope. We have to leave. Do you know what time it is? The girl in the shop told you to be in by 8:45." First of all, a male helped us in the shop, NOT a female and an 8:45 time to be finished was NEVER mentioned. If so, I wouldn't have paid FULL price to play 6.5 holes of golf. Second, this employee has ZERO customer service skills. He wouldn't even listen to me. I've played at this golf course since 1996. This guys is THE worst "golf professional" I've ever worked with. I've personally been in the golf business and real estate business for the past 15 years. My businesses would FAIL, 100%, if I treated any customers like this. This was NOT the head pro. John Pearson, the head pro, is a great professional. This other guy IS the exact reason golf is on the decline. Take your money and treat you like sh&%! It's all about the money and not the golfer. We could have easily finished 2 more holes at the speed we were playing. I declined his offer for a ride back. I mentioned to him that I was in the golf business and he said "then you know why you can't finish the round!" What the hell??????? I'd be fine coming in early if they charged us less money (money isn't the issue at all, it's 100% the principal). I also mentioned that I've done business on the golf course, as a club fitter, as late as 9PM and had to take down my set up in the dark using flashlights. Multiple times. Why? Because it's 100% about the customer! Unless I hear something back from someone at Murray Parkway I will NOT be going back. This was the final straw of a few failed customer service issues on their part, and the 2nd one with this same employee (who has worked there for a while now). I'll be taking my "Murray Parkway" business over to Meadowbrook and Glenmoor GC's. Both clubs let us play until dark, EVERY time. The GC is continuing to receive bad reviews for customer service.
I've always appreciated the greens and practice facilies on this GC. Most of the time they're in great shape. They close the range much too early when there's still plenty of light left (which doesn't make sense, IMO).
I hope to hear something back from these guys. BUYER BEWARE....customer service at this course is lacking!! (except for the grill, those...
Read moreExtremely poor course management by grumpy old men. I dread entering the pro shop at this course. The course itself is in great shape and very enjoyable to play.
Our round this week ended in the marshal gruffly telling us to hurry up at hole 7, after being stuck behind a walking group our entire round and not getting the opportunity to play through.
At hole 8, we were told we were not going to be able to finish our round. Again, very rudely and with no apology. It became clear as we left that we were being pushed out due to the staff wanting to shut down. The gates practically hit our heels. Maybe the time for course marshal to intervene was far earlier in the round and directed at the walking group not keeping a reasonable pace.
Poor, poor customer service. These guys couldn’t care less if you enjoyed your round.
I called the following day to see if they could offer anything to us considering the poor treatment, and I was told that we could not be helped. I was told this was because we got to play “most” of our round. I don’t care how much of our round was cut short - that doesn’t matter to me. I’m pretty sure that if anybody ordered a pizza, and one slice was missing, a refund of some amount would be in order - even though they got “most” of what they paid for. We did not get all of what we paid for, due to the poor management at this course. They were not even apologetic.
Too bad this is such a great course, it will be tough book tee times here following such a...
Read moreI have golfed this course many times, but the previous time I encountered a very rude staff in the Pro Shop, I thought I would give them another chance. Went today and was paired up with a couple of 75 yo guys that could barely move, they were slow but the pace in front of us was very slow. We were waiting 10-15 minutes at each tee box. So after the first 9 I went in and calmly asked if they had a marshal, they said no. I asked politely if they could send someone out (since there was at least 4 guys in there doing nothing) and they refused. The guy got real snippy with me and I got upset and went onto the next 9, I called and spoke to the Golf Pro he was more civil with me but REFUSED to send anyone out to help pick up the pace of play. I warn everyone to NEVER play at this golf course!!!! They are rude!!! This golf course is too expensive to waste your time when you can go ANYWHERE else and be appreciated for your patronage. If they are going to charge full price for weekdays they should have a marshal during...
