Short story - Some of the negative reviews here may in fact be legitimate. If your car arrives complete, as designed, and without defect from arrival through the warranty period you're set! However have issues, need parts, or want support to be supportive and understanding, yea you may be disappointed with exuberant delays. I did finally receive notice the parts have been sent 11/15/24, but as to how the warranty and future support goes who knows - Seems from reviews here and elsewhere the owner may be the nice, understanding one of the bunch, "C" and "A" representatives not so much!
Now for the long review and get all those good details! - Where to begin. First off I bought the toy car for my son's birthday and bought it over a month in advance. Is the car today, nearly a month later, complete as a buyer would expect? No. At first I thought there was an issue with the motors sent since they were both the same unlike videos and parts suppliers, and the fact one motor you would have to force into position which didn't seem right and something I wasn't willing to try. Lucky me it was just disformed plastic and missing scews in the body hindering motor installation. After a trip to the hardware store (buy screws, box cutter, and shears) I was able to get the motor into place, for the most part. Weird noise coming from one motor in a bind/rotation test, but it's "normal" so the seller says - we shall see if it survives use. Sad part is after three (3) weeks of sparse communication it wasn't until I filed a claim with PayPal that someone with knowledge advised me of the aforementioned "fixes" for all the issues. However one issue still remains unresolved: two out of four (2/4) of the rims are deformed and the small head scews designed for the rims, that work on the other two rims, do not allow installation. The fix for this? I need new rims as drilling out the holes/material is not a fix as it would make the plastic too thin to hold integrity. Have I received help getting the rims from the seller? No. Instead I got an email from the seller simply stating I must drop my PayPal claim/case, the number one reason I actually got real help from the seller in the first place - And the email was really rather offensive and in DIRECT violation of PayPal policies. Instead of willing to send me a MANUFACTURER WARRANTIED item do you want to know what the seller instead decided with PayPal? Ask for me as the buyer to pay return shipping (which is estimated around $150-200) at MY SOLE EXPENSE as the buyer to only then receive a refund for ONLY the amount I paid for the car. Pretty shady huh? I decided last night to drop the PayPal case/claim on good faith that the seller would hold up their end and in fact contact me, without delay unlike the weeks I waited before, and send the parts - I mean they already apologized via email about the delays in receiving assistance (parts as promised and other support completing the build) and seemed stunned like I of how far everything got (whew, maybe things will go better now!). But alas, what have I received thus far? No contact from the seller, notification of parts sent, etc... Absolutely nothing. I paid a premium over other websites that sell the same product as the seller, but I chose this particular seller as they're supposed to be reputable and top notch - I typically have faith when the reviews are substantially positive. Instead the support representative ("C") was not knowledgeable in the product they sell, which another representative or manager ("A") apologized for, and contact was less than responsive requiring me to call in weekly and do follow-ups. The buck was passed onto the distributor, someone I as the buyer cannot directly contact, for all parts requests.
Photos attached to this review - Hopefully the photos are self explanatory. Screw that won't go into the rim channel, body deformed prohibiting motor installation, rear axle not protruding enough with motor bound, like for like motor housings that differ from parts dealers but evidently ok (just more of an...
Read moreWe decided to purchase a more expensive vehicle for my Daughter with the idea that the product would be higher quality and the company is located in the USA, Specifically Oklahoma I grew up there, so if a problem occurs it would be easier to correct.
To start, we called and spoke to a nice guy named Ron and he was very helpful throughout the about 30-minute call and also was brutally honest as to what would work best for our daughter and what would not which I really like about the guy. Later the next week I went back on the site and pulled the trigger, ordering was simple, and I also used a coupon Ron provided me over the phone from the previous conversation. I decided on the super car XXL which is claimed to be the largest and fastest car on the market, and it was a 2 seater that could even carry adults with a price point of around 1000 dollars. So after around 4 days the item was shipped with the trucking company Pilot Freight and I was provided a PRO number via email, I watched the tracking in excitement just as a kid myself and finally after 11 days total I got a call from the trucking company letting me know they would be out to make the delivery the next day. I waited around all day as they said it would arrive between 12-6pm and it finally came right at 6pm. I would say I wish they did not require you to be there for delivery as I do have a job and life but either way it arrived safely. I opened the box to the brand new shiny blue toy that looked AMAZING, It was very large and took both my wife and I to get it out of the box. It seemed to weigh in at around 100LBs and seemed to be built well, Now I do recall they sent me a getting started video via email which I honestly fast forward through when it was initially received because the video was 9 minutes long.
So first off id like to say this thing is totally rad compared to power wheels and other stuff out there. The LED headlights and tail lights make it look official. The paint job looks amazing and has a certain shine in the sunlight peeping into my garage. The tires are very plush and feel just like miniature tires on a real car. Now it was time to watch that assembly/getting started video in full and get to work on this cool machine. As for putting it together there is not much to it, I fitted and adjusted the steering wheel as per the video and checked that off the list. Now there was some mentioning of adjusting the brakes but I skipped it as the brakes seemed to function fine. So next was the time to charge the battery. I charged it over night and was like a child my self on Christmas morning along with my daughter jumping for joy because it was time for the first ride! After setting the battery neatly in place I plugged it in and closed the hood. I jumped in this miniature automobile and cranked over the key with Joy and it lit up and made a starting sound like a real super car. I mashed the pedal to the floor and it took off like a dream so smooth and quiet my daughter giggled with glee. And then it stopped all of a sudden, I pressed the pedal and nothing? So I rolled the car back to my garage and looked it over and checked wires but still nothing… So I placed a call to Big Toys and got a guy on the phone named Anthony his voice was very smooth and patient, I explained my dilemma and he just what to do, “he asked did you check the break sensor? I hesitated and said no??? He explained that in the video there is a spring that has to be adjusted, So I made th adjustment and BAM! It was play time again! I just want to say the service and good attitude from the workers at Big Toys has been the best I have ever seen. The car has been amazing going on 2 months now besides the little glitch which was my fault from no watching the assembly video in full. I give it 5 stars for quality durability and just overall fun!
Thank you...
Read moreUPDATE!!! - I'm shocked. A day after the incident, a manager called to apologize for his subordinate's behavior. I've only ever had someone call me like that once before! I had already purchased a unit from them so he had no motivation to call except to make things right with an apology and tell me that isn't how they treat their customers. I kind of figured my initial experience was out of the ordinary, looking at their high rating here and how fantastic Ryan had been. They record the calls to ensure good customer service so when he came in the following day, he said he was embarrassed to hear how the first sales guy was speaking to a customer. I'm really impressed by this and think it's fair to add a star to their rating. They've earned my future business. Thanks, you made my day!!!
After looking over the website for over 2 hours, I had made up my mind to purchase a toy vehicle from this company. The website was not organised in a way that made it easy for someone to compare different models of vehicles. For example, some stated 40-70 minutes run time, some stated 70-90 minutes and some didn't state any run time information at all. Fortunately, the website says call them and they'll help you make up your mind. Great! Well, half great. The first person that answered identified themselves as "sales, how may I help you". I asked whom I was speaking with and they answered "James" I believe. I asked them if they had time to help me narrow my search and they said they did, but then backtracked with trying to direct me back to the website where I could find all my answers and that they could not make up my mind for me. Each question I asked, I felt as though I was causing him some great distress. I finally told him he was being rude and he asked if I would like to speak to someone else. Yes! After a brief wait, Ryan C. picked up the line to help me. Complete 180. He was able to answer all my questions and we narrowed my search down to 2 vehicles, 1 which was available now and the other in a couple months. Perfect, my wife and I ordered the 12v Mercedes Zetros. It had the spring suspension, leather cushion chair, seat belt harness, storage, rubber tires, it encapsulated the driver and has a long run time so we can take it for walks in the park each day. Ryan C saved the sale. I was seconds away from hanging up and buying from a different online supplier. The website needs to have each model organization standardised to make it easier for the customer. Finding a spec at the top of one models list, bottom of a different model, then not at all on a third is disfunctional. I wish I could give Ryan 5 Stars and James 0 Stars, but unfortunately I can only rate the company so I averaged it...
