I have shopped at All Season for over 20 years, but may never go back. I moved to OKC 20 years ago, but often drive past Lowes, Tractor Supply and Atwoods to get to All Season. I like to support locally owned business, and the employees there have always been super helpful. I needed a simple spring for a latch, so drove the extra ten miles to buy from All Season. The man behind the counter showed me the selection. The one I needed was 65 cents. I took it to the counter and presented my 100% Disabled Veteran Tax Exempt Card and mentioned I was tax exempt. The clerk rang it up and said, "That will be 71 cents". I asked why and the clerk said that was the price with sales tax. I reminded him I was tax exempt and the exemption card was still on the counter. He said, "You don't want to pay sales tax on 65 cents?" in an incredulous tone of voice. I told him I don't want to pay sales tax on ANYthing! So he, in a grumpy tone of voice, told me to hold on and rerang the sale. The State of Oklahoma grants tax exemption to 100% Service Connected Disabled Veterans. I earned that priviledge and have carried the pain for 55 years. All Vietnam vererans were treated poorly upon their return to the United States. This exchange with an insensitive clerk brought back all of the feelings I felt back then. Why would anyone want to pay more for an item than necessary? A more pleasant response would have been: "Thanks for your service". Or nothing at all. For those readers who think, "Well it is only six cents", I doubt you are a veteran. I will shop at Lowe's, which gives a 10% discount to veterans and forgo the extra mileage to return to All Seasons. I will miss the friendliness and great service of the other staff, who have always been...
Read moreWent in to buy minnows for a family fishing trip. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and went to the back to get the minnows while my family browsed. We were checking out and another worker demanded to take the minnows back and count them behind the original worker who brought them out. We had to wait, while, I assume, he counted each minnow one by one. Ten minutes later, he brought the bag back and embarrassed the original worker by stating that he needed more training on counting minnows. 🙄🙄 Petty, selfish, greedy, and unprofessional. We spent more than enough money to cover any extra minnows that may have been in the bag. Needless to say, they...
