Dollar General — Local services in Nashua

This is a place that settles in to a small town that doesn't have options. You go there, try to look around, (whilst navigating between stacks of inventory boxes blocking isles,) because corporate policy is greed * so, being constantly understaffed, there's never enough time to put product away, And never quite find what you want because options are not an option. You get what they have when they have it. This store makes you think you're saving money bc of the name, but you're NOT.

You pay more for less. Product sizes are smaller, quality is poorer- check dates! Also, check freshness regardless of date. We bought hotdogs that had an expiration date of 2 months ahead- got home- and they were GREY. Grey is NOT the proper color for a hot dog, my friends. Went back and was hassled for a refund. We could get new grey hotdogs or nothing.

I'm not even ragging on the staff. They're underpaid, overworked and are ruled by their corporate overlords. My beef is not with this particular store, it's with corporate policy. People want to shop here bc of local convenience, but maybe just drive the 15 miles to a better store, get lower prices for bigger items. Maybe they wont...

Nashua's Dollar General is the superior Dollar General in my area. I live in New Hampton and I tried going to New Hampton's DG for toilet paper and laundry products. Nobody knew where the laundry baskets were or if they even had any because the store was such a mess and if you want tp, forget it. You will have to move numerous carts of products, that have been waiting weeks to be set out, before even being able to get to it. Charles City is an absolute nightmare as well. Nashua keeps their store free and clear of clutter and I'm impressed with how well they are able to keep their store looking so nice. Not a cart to be seen. Great job Nausha! You should be proud. Made a quick stop on my way through to my son’s house for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised at how clean, organized and well stocked the store was. The clerks were very friendly. I overheard them helping out another customer who was looking for gloves, and, even though they didn’t have what he was looking for, they thanked him for coming in and he thanked them for their help.
