My hair was a complete mess when I walked in, and I’ve honestly never known how to embrace my curls. Lacey changed that for me. She took the time to explain products, styling, and how to actually work with my curls instead of against them. I walked in looking like Hagrid and left with the most perfect curls I’ve ever had (I wish I had a before picture to prove it!).

What really impressed me was that Lacey listened. I told her I have three kids and about 20 minutes on a good day to do my hair. I needed something low-maintenance, and she gave me just that. She made sure the cut and routine fit my real life, not some unrealistic standard.

The salon itself is absolutely adorable, which just adds to the experience. I also love that Scrunch Salon is proudly gay-owned and openly celebrates that on their website. They are clear about wanting a clientele that’s understanding and supportive. If you don’t agree with that lifestyle, this isn’t the place for you. I respect and love that they stand by their values instead of just taking anyone’s business.

On top of all of that, I truly felt at home there. It wasn’t just about the haircut, it was about being in a space that’s welcoming, kind, and affirming.

The pricing was also straightforward and fair. You truly pay for what you get, with no hidden costs or surprise add-ons. It’s refreshing to know exactly what you’re getting into, and the value is worth every penny.

I had my first appt with Derek today. He is a magician! I have struggled with my hair FOREVER. I was getting Keratin treatments, straightening it, or curling with an iron to try to manage it. Nobody could ever help me with my natural hair. Derek is incredibly educated, skilled and passionate about curly hair. I am so excited to finally have someone who understands my natural hair. Got my first deva cut with Derek and he did not disappoint! He is passionate about curly hair, a delight to talk to, and he’s incredibly talented!! It’s a full experience where you not only get a dry hair cut that suits your curls best (and revives them!), but he also educates you on how to style your hair to maintain your better than ever curls.
