When we told our guests that our wedding buffet was entirely vegan and the hors d'oeuvres were entirely vegetarian, we admittedly got some luekwarm reactions. By the end of the night, we very literally had friends who told us they were going to try and replicate the tofu crab cakes with cajun remoulade because they were so delicious. When we made our rounds after eating, someone at nearly every table brought up how good the food was. It may have been a surprise to some of the guests, but it wasn't to us.

When we first reached out to Flavor, we weren't sure what to expect. We knew we wanted an entirely vegetarian menu, and it was important to us that there were vegan options for guests as well. Mary Nell responded to our inquiry and assured us that it wouldn't be a problem and, after asking a few questions about what we liked, scheduled a tasting for us. She was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the menu she put together blew us away. She made it clear to us that we could make adjustments if we wanted, but I can't remember a single thing we changed about our menu after the tasting.

In addition to the food being highly customizable and incredibly tasty, Flavor took special care for several of our guests who had food allergies. They made sure everything was prepared in dedicated spaces so that those with allergies could eat, and even prepared Gluten Free versions of the meal for some of our guests who have Celiac.

Flavor also provided bartenders, who mastered four separate signature drinks that we wanted to have, and even sourced fresh cranberries and thyme as garnish for two of them. They worked alongside our planner to make sure our final numbers were accurate and the proper number of allergen-specific meals were made, and everything ended up working out perfectly.

We couldn't be happier with our choice to use Flavor catering, and are especially thankful to Mary Nell for always being available to answer questions, offer recommendations, and for being so knowledgeable not only about the food offerings, but also about what alcohol we needed to order for the bartenders. Flavor is every bit of 5 stars and more! Quality, Value and Integrity are the three words that first come to mind for this catering company. We contracted Flavor to cater my son's wedding in December of 2021 (vegan bride and non-vegan groom) and the experience could not have been any better from beginning to end. Mary Nell was nothing short of awesome to work with and the staff is absolutely top notch! We had many compliments on the food with several expressing it was the best wedding dinner they had ever experienced and even the non-vegans loved the Mongolian Seitan.

Flavor's respect for our vegan bride truly warmed my heart. We had passed appetizers during cocktail hour with a vegan option for every standard option served. When the staff determined the day of the event that the flour being used for the vegan hot chicken bites was not truly vegan it was pulled from service. It would have been so easy for the staff to simply move forward with the plan as it was written and no one would have ever known. I have no words to express the appreciation that I have for the amount of respect they showed our vegan bride and the integrity they have proven themselves to have.

I've been to a lot of events in my lifetime and Flavor has provided the best food hands down. When you think of a very large wedding or gala, gourmet food does not come to mind. In fact, the food is usually not memorable at all. However, I've attended 2 fundraising galas for Davis House Child Advocacy center catered by Flavor and not only was the food amazing, so was the presentation. So much so that, for the first time ever, I asked who catered it. They're gourmet magicians, truly. They've also catered small meetings and were amazing but to do such an outstanding with a group of 350 is no small feat! I highly recommend them. I wish I had thought to take pictures for my review but I just had a friend ask if I could recommend a catering company and figured I would leave a review while I was thinking about them. On a more personal note, I help coordinate the Button Ball and brought my daughter this year. She really enjoyed the passed apps beforehand but the main food was a little too gourmet for her. I pulled a server aside and she rustled some more apps for my daughter. That was a...night saver. Nothing worse than a hangry child!...
