This town is on the XTX: a biking, hiking, horsing trail from the Sabine river to Guadalupe Peak & the NM border. Still being perfected, but I. Convinced them to go thru the Sam Houston national forest for better camping, trail towns, & dirt roads; as well as the Lone Star Trail for Hikers. Richards is not far from Trailhead #1.
