Located on the corner of FM 2988 and FM 362 in Whitehall, Texas Pickers 1st Saturday Antique Sale & Flea Market is a small monthly event that is over 20 years old.
My wife, Cindy, and I came to it 2-3 times a year up until around 2008. I can’t remember by we stopped as we had a number of flea markets we would visit occasionally around the Conroe area near where we live in Shenandoah. It is less than an hour from our house, so it is a fun little Saturday trip.
This is an intimate flea market with usually less than 50 vendors. It offers antiques and regular flea market finds, sporting goods plus much more.
Mu old knife dealer buddy, Wayne, comes to it. In the picture of his knife table, he is the guy in the black t-shirt. He sets up the rest of the month at Olde Security Flea Market on TX-105 between Conroe and Cleveland. He is usually on Row F.
The central building is an old cotton gin where a number of vendors set up inside and around it.
Across the street is the Whitehall Community Volunteer Fire Department. They host a fund raising BBQ each month for vendors and folks who attend the flea market. Pretty darn good BBQ brisket and sides, too.
You will find parking in a field behind the cotton gin or on the street on FM 2988.

We loved the line of vehicles with tables set up with all that “good rusty junk” we love to pick through. It was also a good place for local artisans to present their wares. Instead, the last time we were there about a year ago, there were vendors selling new stuff, lots made overseas! Gone was the charm of locals selling the goodies they had picked while scouring the countryside. I would like to return but not if things haven’t reverted to the original format. I invite a response from someone affiliated with this event. I would love to come back & enjoy our drive out to...
Read moreDriving by to check out a small town treasure that I had heard of. when we pulled up to see if they were open a lady was extremely unpleasant, cussing and screaming at my husband and I with my niece and nephew in the car. Will not be coming back. I completely understand making a mistake about times of operation. Being in customer service my self I would never treat someone like that. Word of advice do not show up here unless you are 100% positive they are open. Will not be recommending g this place. Learn how to have...
