It's an OK gym and one of two choices you have in the area. Yes, it has a pool, a basketball court, group exercise rooms, and other amenities. My review is only based on the weights area.
A majority of the equipment is very old. It's all in working order but most of the machines have dirt and dust build up from years and years like they've never been cleaned. There is a pretty decent variety of machines but it's still lacking a lot of the newer types.
The barbells/weights are standard very old metal weights that have seen years and years of heavy use. They are extremely difficult to find as they are scattered around the different racks. The dumbbells are metal handled and they have a good selection of weights.
The gym goers here though are the main problem....I've spent the last 10 years going to gyms downtown in large (2.5 million plus people) cities and have never run into such bad gym etiquette. I have literally never seen anyone re rack their weights. They get done with a bench or rack, leave everything on the bar, and walk off. So many people work out right in front of the dumbbells and act like they're confused when you're waiting for them to move.
The older gym guests have no problem waiting for you to finish a set then immediately come and take your machine or rack while you're on a rest period. The very few benches they have near the dumbbells are usually of full of people's belongings while they are doing some other exercise or there's a group of 4 or 5 people hanging out chatting so no one else can use them. The cable machines are usually taken up with one person doing multiple workouts at the same time on various parts of it so no one can use it until they're done.
The staff here are amazing and the building itself is definitely set up to be a nice gym. If it had newer equipment and nicer members it would be a...
Read moreWeekend hours aren't flexible. And to bring my kids to this family oriented gym, it's almost $11 a child for the day pass. For an hour or 2 of basketball in addition to my monthly membership. They don't get to come often enough to validate me upgrading to a family pass. But to allow them to be active on the nasty weather days is completely unaffordable for a single mom. I've never been anywhere that charged more than $5 for the same thing. It's insane. Once my membership is up, I may as well switch to the other gym in town since I can't afford to bring my kids anyway. At least they offer...
Read moreThe staff is so UNPROFESSIONAL and NASTY, met with an employee named “HOPE MISNER” which sealed the deal on the cancellation of my membership. For being an operations manager you’d think she owned the gym, which by her professionalism and lack of education will never be the case. Get better employees who aren’t so power hungry and repulsive. I will be contacting the better business...
