If you take the forest service road from 89 near Showdown, the drive gets sketchy at times, even with a pickup. Note, there really isn't a better road to get up there. Four wheel drive is required to get anywhere close to the trailhead. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half from 89. Will need to deflate tires though due to the rocky nature of the road.
I almost got stuck in very deep puddles but just barely made it without skidding off the road. Both ways at said point are worrisome. Once to the trailhead, it's a steep walk up to the top. Not very fulfilling just because of how close you are to the top from the trailhead, but fricking beautiful view. On AllTrails, a lot of people said Rhoda Lake smells like dead fish. I didn't go down to the lake, but didn't smell dead water creatures from anywhere on the hike.
Would I do this hike again? NO! Unless I had an ATV... or could fly to the trailhead... but definitely worth...
