Absolutely amazing experience with Skydive The Wasatch!! Took my girlfriend Jewel on a surprise skydive date for her 25th birthday. Kept it a complete secret (partly thanks to STW) until we literally pulled up to the airport! It was so seamless and fun. Booking process is easy and straightforward. Location is very easy to find on apple maps. They are all very nice people at the shop. Make you feel super welcome there. Onsite bathrooms are clean and nice.
We showed up, got weighed in and finished wavers, they briefed us on the process, then we got harnessed up. They shot some before jump interview footage and b-roll. We hopped in the plane and took off. They do not leave room for you to think, second guess, and back out, thankfully!! (Don't backout!! It is the most thrilling experience you'll ever have, read more below..) They took footage all the way up, filming us and the scenery. They prepped us a little more on the plane ride up. They connected the harnesses together between student and instructor when we were nearing the jump altitude. The plane ride was about 15-20 minutes up to 13,000 feet. Insane views of the mountains, especially Mount Nebo and the Redcliffs of Nephi canyon.
The door flipped open and that's when it got serious. Crazy emotions when you feel the cool wind of 13,000 feet! You put your feet out on the platform, stand up, look down 13,000 feet (to what should be certain death!!), and then bam you jump off! CRAZY FEELING. You naturally barrel roll / backflip off the platform looking at the plane as you fly away from it, then you flip around and are belly down facing the ground. Free falling 120+ mph for 30+ seconds. It is insane how freeing it felt. They made sure to tap our shoulders to look at the camera to get great footage of our reactions all the way down. So much to take in!
They threw the shoot out and the rest of the ride was easy, fun, and slower the rest of the way down. This is where you really take in the views. It is quiet and you can talk to your instructor during this time. It is about 5-7 minutes. You get to take control of the shoot for a short time and menavure the both of you in the sky. Playing around with wind manipulation. Super fun.
You do a mock landing while in the air by pulling up your feet. Then you land super easily, they glide you in right to your butt in very loose and soft gravel. Does not hurt whatsoever. Not abrupt or rough at all.
They do a post flight interview with you and then you head back to the hangar. Unharness, and then they present you with a successful flight certificate! They have an editor working on the footage during your flight and right after. So you get to watch a rough cut version right there with the crew 10 minutes after landing. Reliving it right there laughing and smiling with everyone. They congratulated us and then the final cut of video was sent about 10 minutes later to our email. Super easy to download! Definitely go with a video package, photos would be awesome, but nothing beats the video footage.
Highly recommend skydiving with Skydive The Wasatch. Hard to beat the views of free falling next to one of the tallest mountains utah has to offer. It is worth every penny. You will be smiling and giddy for days to come! Rewatching the video and sharing with everyone!
Thank you for such a great experience! We will be back...
Read moreSkydive the Wasatch how to review. It’s obviously, obvious only a poem will do. It was a gift for my family an experience to bond, away from the phones and negative throng. 20’s, 30’s, 50’s, 70’s and 80’s to was our group years that had passed. All wondering if the day might well be our last. We went on Saturday with ten in fold, all had thoughts and fears of striking adrenaline gold. The treasure started with the gal at the desk, I forget her name but she was the best. She took our info and secreted our weight, made us feel sooo welcome as she guarded the gate. Approved by the dogs we assembled the welcoming stare, instantly apparent how much this great group of people do care. While under the ropes of our new friend Leon - Specialistic, Proficient, Qualified, and Adept cover the feelings he helps one get. Paul was the man who gave us great care, Pro, Expert and Skilled is the badge he did wear. Masterly, Masterful, Master of fun, is our title for Matt the crazy one. Schooled in his craft, Accomplished, Ace, Trained, Careful of word was Brandon the brains. Superman we dubbed our ally from the pose he did often display, releasing trapped air from the chutes that kept us safe all the day. To the man who took my 82 year old pops, your care for him was the tops, tops, tops. Special thanks to the man who helped realize my 70+ mother in laws dream. And an apology as well for her piercing scream. Leon I know was the man who gave my best friend my wife flight. Big thanks to you for making my night! To the several involved with the rest of my clan, your love and care did bond us in ways I hope you can understand. I and my family had the best time jumping with the great folks at Skydive the Wasatch in Nephi. My wife and I gift experiences now for the Holidays as our kids are older and we have done several different adrenaline packed things. I must say that this experience was the best and the only one so far that everyone involved has requested a repeat on. I know the reason for this has everything to do with the way we were treated by the staff. It is well apparent that every employee at Skydive the Wasatch love what they do, they are professional in every aspect of the experience. You understand from the moment you arrive that safety is a priority and that fun will be ultimate outcome. If anyone reading this is considering a jump with friends or family I say go for it. It is a magical experience that somehow and in some way I can’t explain bonds a group of people together like nothing you have done before. I wish to personally thank everyone at Skydive the Wasatch. We are all addicted now, it is your fault so you must take the responsibility for that and what you have created. My apologies and fore warning, the circus you experienced Saturday will be back in town and next time we will not be so...
Read moreLike many people, this was a bucket list item for me. I am a seasoned paraglider pilot and used to being aloft. I always thought skydiving was over-rated but not anymore!!
I decided to give it a go and started reading reviews. I quickly realized that the (very few) negative reviews were totally unfounded and only reflected poorly on the author of the review and not the company. Moreover, these ridiculous reviews were met with a polite and professional response from the company. Polite, friendly, and professional is exactly how I would describe Skydive the Wasatch.
On to the good stuff.... I was way more nervous than I should have been. I expected the plane ride up to be 20 minutes of nail-biting anxiety, when it was actually 20 minutes of beautiful mountain views and friendly conversation with some really great people. I really appreciated that. Thank you!! 😃
Getting out of the plane was like clockwork and the ride was incredible. I can say with certainty, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I am hooked! I wanted to go again but we had made other plans for the afternoon. I am visiting from out of state but if I were local, I'd definitely be a regular around the hanger.
Scott was my tandem pilot and contributed a large part to my having a glorious experience. Thank you Scott!!! You rock!! I met and chatted with a nice fellow named Leon who happened to be a paraglider pilot also. Everyone at Skydive made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We literally felt like part of the family. Thank you for that as well!! 😃
Looking back, it's clear that this company has their stuff together. Its more than just getting up and back safely, it the overall experience and they totally...
