Wonderful hike, really appreciate the crew that remarks the trail each year, as without the markings it is easy to get lost. Several places to camp, including the base, saddle, and summit, but if you’re looking for nighttime viewing, camping at the summit is the way to go.

Be sure to bring binoculars or a small telescope for the best view of Groom Lake. and I also would advise taking a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as parts of the road leading to the trailhead, Badger Valley Road, are impassable without one due to loose...

This was worth the time and hassle to it turned out being just to make it here... Well worth it.

Only place you can legally see Groom Lake and Area 51. Great for camping and sky watching. Bundle up because it gets really cold at night even during the summer! Its a long hike but worth its weight in gold for night time views. Most sightings of neat stuff will happen during the week not the weekends so if youre going to see night sky stuff plan your trip for the middle...
