Ashley Outlet — Local services in New Bern

We recently purchased some living room furniture from the Ashley store in New Bern, NC. The folks over at Ashley are just the nicest, friendliest and attentive people. Our salesman, Mike Robbins, took very good care of us. What impressed us the most was how accommodating they were when the new sofa we purchased would not fit in our home. The delivery people were so kind and did their very best to try and get the soda in our home but unfortunately it could not make it past the door way. We were so upset and the delivery team assured us not to worry that Mike would take care of us. We immediately called Mike and he said that he would be leaving for the evening but we could come down as the store would be open until 7PM. When we arrived at the store, Mike was there, he stayed to take care of us, even when he didn’t have to. Mike assured us not to worry, he would help us. We are type of people that like to see furniture in person. Mike suggested that we go to one of the other stores in the neighboring towns to see what they had on the floor and to bring him numbers back. The next day, we drive to Jacksonville, NC to see what was there. When we arrived, we were greeted by Chrissy. We told here what we where there for. Even though Chrissy knew she would not make a sale with us, she was there to answer all our questions and took the time to write all the information down to take back to Mike after she helped us pick out some new things. We drove back to New Bern where Mike was waiting for us to return. Mike did as he promised. He took care of us. He explained everything to us and what to expect. Mike and the other staff, Babette, fixed everything. We have never been to a company in which every person, even in a different location, was so nice! They could have easily said, “I’m sorry, it’s yours now”. But they didn’t. They took care of us. Mike gave us the best prices. Needless to say, Mike and Ashley Furniture will always have our business. We will recommend...

On Black Friday we went in to the New Bern store and purchased a couch and loveseat. Gary was very nice and super helpful. Good experience in the store. He told us to expect the furniture anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks. Definitely a 5 star experience. 5 weeks later after repeatedly either visiting the store or calling them about our furniture, we finally got confirmation for delivery of just our couch. Love seat is unknown. No clue when it will come. Even the lady we talked to this morning seemed very fustrated that we were still waiting for our furniture. Very disappointed. We would never had bought it if we had known it would take this long. 1 star for taking so long and for not letting us know that they had none in stock and that it would take this long. Cannot give anymore than 2 stars due to this and will never buy from them again. Very disappointed. We just hope that when the furniture actually gets here it is not damaged.

Update: After posting this review, Ashley Furniture's owner reached out to us in a phone call explaining what happened and why it took so long to get our sofa. Apparently a glitch in their computer system showed both in stock when they actually were not. Not only that but due to the glitch, our love seat was never ordered. That wasn't discovered until our sofa came in. The gentlemen who delivered our sofa were nice and delivered and put together our sofa with care. Our love seat was originally scheduled to come in on the 23rd almost 2 months late but is now scheduled for delivery this Friday, 2 weeks earlier than thought. We are happy about that. Our salesman has made several follow up calls apologizing for the mess up and for that and the actual owner reaching out to us I am upping my rating to 3 stars. Hopefully the glitch is now fixed and no one will have to go through...

Store was very clean and inviting. . Beautiful furniture skillfully arranged with accents. I went in to buy a dinning table. Had just what I needed Mike ordered it for me . Deena had me financed in minutes. Other staff also spoke and they acknowledged me as I waited on my paperwork. Huge shout out to Deena and Mike for helping me find what I need so quickly and . courteously I woul highly recommend this store in James City to anyone looking for fine furniture at a reasonable price. See Mike in sales and Deena in financing. After I ordered this furniture on August 27 , 2020 and specifically telling Mike I needed it by Thanksgiving , Which he assured me it would be delivered by then , I waited each Monday for updates on delivery. Received a call from Veronica and was told that it would be delivered that week and the next phone call would be from delivery driver. I never received a call from delivery . Next call aI got was from Mike and was told I would have it before Christmas. On December 23 2020 Mike called me and said delivery had been cancelled by Ashley. He stated that he had a table and he knew of at least two chairs in Greenville he could get me or he had a cherry wood set on New Bern , that had been used as a credit kiosk for over a year. He said it was in pretty good shape. Table was worn but not abused he could bring me. I thought that it was a good deal until I found out he expected me to pay full price. I finally got a dining table f to on another place. I am upset with how Ashley Corporate and this store manager handled my sell. I still have not been refunded my money for down payment...
