Merchant's Grocery — Local services in New Bern

Living a bit away from grocery stores, Merchants has saved me countless runs in town by carrying school supplies,1st aid, meds,1 ingredient nedded in a recipe,last roll of toilet paper(!), all household products, dessert in a pinch, anything realized needed by 6am the next morning! There is very little Merchants does NOT carry.Many a boater & driver has been saved from running out of gas by the great location of gas pumps.The iconic "griddle" creates the best burgers, BLTs & breakfasts! This morning I watched Derek from TheFoodBoat go Live on YouTube at this quaint southern establishment. He brought us on a tour of the location and explained that he was very impressed with the extremely helpful manager and the quality of the prepared food. This is definitely the type of place I enjoy and I will be sure to stop by soon. A quintessential piece of Americana surrounded by stunning views. A great little rest stop to grab the this’s and that’s and even a little breakfast or lunch to get you on your way to your destination, especially if you love to go to places where the locals go in lieu of fast food.
