Aquatics at JB MDL — Local services in New Hanover Township

Aquatics is great for kids and adults. There's 2 pools inside. The larger pool is for swimming laps (4ft -12ft deep) and the other pool (approx. 4 ft deep) is for the water slide and you can also play basketball. Some life guards are nice and will give you the tools to play with, others are either miserable or too lazy to get you the ball. Overall quiet staff but definitely a good portion of lifeguards on deck to make you feel safe. There is a baby pool outside but it's currently closed for renovation. Overall I enjoy coming here. It's also around the corner from the outside pool but that's only open to active military. But when the inside pool is closed, they will let people use the outside pool. This is a very nice indoor pool for recreational swimming and exercise, HOWEVER, it seems there's always an issue with the MWR keeping the place opened and running properly; causing service members and their dependents being unable to swim for extended periods of time. There are people on JBMDL-Fort Dix who are only able to swim as a form of exercise and the installation's continued failures to keep this pool open for us to use is completely...

It serves its purpose of being a functioning pool. The hours are meant for retirees or stay at home moms, they open and close during hours that are not for servicemembers.
