Seitter's Market — Local services in New Haven

I recommend Save a Lot if you're grocery shopping in New Haven.

Seitter's has a reasonably adequate selection, slightly higher prices than I expected, and a mostly friendly staff... one problem.

I entered the store with bags from another local business and put them in my cart. I was maybe 20 feet inside the store before I was approached and asked to leave my CART at the register... My response was "I intend to use my cart for shopping". I was asked to remove the bags and leave them at register 3. What I wanted to say was "Do I look like a thief? No, I don't." I would suggest a revision of your store policy, or perhaps criminal profiling courses for your employees.

Personally, I won't be returning to this store. I do not appreciate being humiliated and treated...

We used Seitter's Front Street Catering for our wedding in Defiance, MO on Aug 30, 2025 and we cannot sing our praises enough. Lisa was easy to work with, quick to respond, not to mention affordable. I feel like we found a needle in a haystack coming across Seitter's. The amount of food and the quality of the food and service is unmatched. Our guests couldn't say enough great things about the meal they provided and the staff was professional and sweet! These people are amazing! They recently catered our daughter's wedding, made the cake and the flowers. Most of the arrangements were made online or by phone since we are out-of-town. They are extremely nice and helpful and the prices very reasonable. We had many comments of, "Best wedding food ever!" Thank you so much, Seitters Market, for helping our event...
