NHTC — Local services in New Hope

This is the first time in a long time that the employee was friendly. Ill start by saying since my moms stroke, I take care of the bill for her. A few months back, I called and told the young girl that I couldnt find the bill. She was rude when she asked me the 21 questions before allowing me.(password,pin#,favorite dogs name, ss#, ect.....) And im like here's the account number and the money. Why do i need to tell you all that? If I'm just trying to pay? Its not like im trying to charge snow boots for my chickens to someone else, I just want to pay my bill. She wouldn't tell me the amount, then proceeded to ask if i wanted to use the card on file? I asked, well idk, which card is that? SHE THEN WITHOUT HESITATION READ OFF THE CARD NUMBER😳😲. I kinda laughed and said yes that's the one.🤦‍♀️🤣 She wouldn't give me the amount being charged, I had to wait to get that from my bank. 🤔🤪This time was much better. We made small talk, and laughed. I was even told to, "have a great afternoon ". And sadly that almost never happens. So, NHTC, I didn't get her name, but the lady with short blonde hair that was working yesterday ,.... Thank her, she deserves it............... Thank you for your response, I know you all take the privacy policy serious. Which is why I was so surprised to have been told what the "CC # on file" was but not amount due. I was never told that my mom could add my name to the account . This was never about the the policy that I 100% agree with. This was about not getting the customer service that I felt was needed to someone who has been with yall...

I have been a loyal customer of New Hope Telephone Cooperative for over 4 years now, relying solely on their internet service since moving to this area. When we first arrived, NHTC was the only provider offering 1 gig service, which immediately met our needs for seamless streaming, gaming, and work-from-home capabilities. Recently, newer internet services have started entering our area, but many require tearing up yards and neighborhoods to install their infrastructure. In contrast, NHTC has demonstrated a forward-thinking approach by investing in our community before it became popular. Their infrastructure was already in place, providing high-speed internet without the disruption of extensive construction. In addition to their reliable internet service, we also utilize NHTC's home security service. Their integrated approach allows us to manage both our internet and security systems seamlessly through one provider. This has simplified our household management and enhanced our peace of mind, knowing that we have robust security measures in place supported by a trusted local company. NHTC's commitment to quality extends to their customer service as well. Their team is always responsive and knowledgeable, promptly addressing any questions or concerns we may have. Great and reliable service. I have just reviewed every telephone company in Alabama and all the people that take the time to write a review say they wish they had some other provider...kind of funny. New Hope Telephone averages one hour trouble repair responses which is absolutely unheard of today, get that from AT&T, Comcast, Charter or any other provider, try 2 to 7 days from those companies. Oh by the way it won't be long and we will have GIG internet availability as well...not bad from a rural provider when Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery and Huntsville doesn't even have it yet.

The reason that NHTC is most people’s only ISP provider is the cost of operation and homes-per-mile available to serve. Other companies are free to serve the same area but choose not to due to the low profitability. NHTC isn’t a monopoly by choice but they are the only company that strives to provide service to an area that would otherwise not have it. That’s why telecom cooperatives were created by the people they serve. Great service and...
