The other day I called and asked if they accepted EBT for hot food. The woman on the phone said YES. I went in and picked out some boudin and a chicken burger. Went to checkout, they told me they don’t take EBT for hot food. I expressed that I had just called this store literally 10 minutes ago and asked if they accepted EBT For hot food, and now I’m being told that they do NOT in fact accept EBT for hot food. Lady at the register said, we used to. Not anymore. Well they should tell the woman answering the phones that, as it’s the entire reason I went there. It was embarrassing. I ended up using what little cash I had just cause I didn’t wanna put it back and be more embarrassed. It was literally the rest of my cash though. Anyways, I wish I would have just put it back, because the chicken burger tasted like fish, and the boudin was probably the worst boudin I’ve ever eaten. I like to shop here because the fresh cooked food daily and the bakery. I can get all my groceries here but the price of everything is doubled in stores like this. They do offer deals on canned vegetables, like 5 for $5 on brand cans and salad dressings will have deals. It would be great to see specials on there specialty meat packages. These include pre-seasoned chicken, hamburger patties, bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, fresh sausage, just an array of Cajun recipes. They could offer a combo pack of 3 meat packs for $21.95. It would be even better if they had a buy 2 @ $12 on 12pks of Dr. Pepper, Coke products etc. Overall very...

This place has a lot to offer. Clean, well organized store that is well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful, they make me feel like a guest at a family cookout; like you're friends with there cousin Junebug and they want to make sure you have a good time because ol Junebug hasn't had a friend in a long time, and he deserves friends!
