Community Store — Local services in New Market

Read a few reviews about how unfriendly and pricey this place is. Unfriendly, nope! Everyone was very friendly. Pricey…okay, yes it is, BUT remember, this store is in the middle of nowhere and it’s a convenient store. You pay the price for the convenience of a store not in a major town in the middle of nowhere. Just like any other convenience store 🤷‍♀️ With that said, this store has everything you could possibly want in the mountains. From over the counter medicine to steaks, beer, utensils, gas, ice, fire wood, slushy machine and coffee to name a few. There’s too much to list, so I took many pictures with the hopes that they help others to see what they carry. I gave them 4 stars because we ordered two deli sandwiches and only one of them had everything we wanted on it even though we said on both. The chicken salad sandwich was a little sweet for our liking as well. Other than that, it was very clean and well stocked! Yes, there is not much parking, but it’s not small either…this isn’t Walmart. In conclusion, they have a very wide variety of food and hardware items. You will find what...

I was just looking at some old places that I used to go as a kid, and I was thrilled to see that Google Maps still shows the little building adjacent to the community store as the "Stop & Look" Store. Oh the times we had way back when in the Bayse Valley, at Bryce and Orkney Springs. We used to Stop in at the market on the way to the lake and pick up candy bars and Mountain Dew's and ice cream bars. It brings back such fond memories of riding in the backs of pick up trucks and just not caring about a thing in the world. I'll have to come back and see y'all. See how the valley has changed....or not...

It's the only store within a twelve mile radius. It's a nice store that offers food, snacks, cleaning supplies, huge beer cooler and more. Pizza, sandwiches and deli items available until a half hour before closing. Offers 24 hour gas pumps. Coffee bar as well. Prices on items are a bit high but the other shopping options are...
