I am very disappointed. A while ago I left a review about being grateful they had an assortment of health foods organic keto and otherwise. I also said I was disappointed last year during pride month the bakery was all lbgtq decorated baked goods. I am glad the manager got back to me but now I have a new complaint The Lord lays it on my heart once in a while to hand out encouragement cards these are cards that have a Bible prayer in it it does not invite people to any organization, church or place but gives people encouragement Bible verses with a prayer that is it. I do this once in a while and there are folks greatly encouraged with this that made there day some told me. When I hand them out people are always given an option on if they would like one. One day while shopping the Lord laid it on my heart to give two of them to customers one lady had a big smile and was very happy to get one. I got my shopping done and proceeded to leave the store and was stopped by the tall blond girl. She sternly said I will no longer be able to shop at this store if I keep soliciting ! I told her I am not soliciting. Soliciting is when you try to get information out about and organization or business. I was simply handing out encouraging cards. The Supreme Court law even says it is leafleting and it is legal in the United States and is different then soliciting Now Coborns is owned privately I believe so not sure if this law applies of course they perhaps can do what they want. I don’t like how I was accused of soliciting when by definition it was not soliciting. Also the blond tall worker did it in a way that scolded me. This is what I get in return for plenty of business the last 5 years. Keep in mind it’s ok for them to push a political agenda of pride month and have everything in the bakery promoting lgbtq in front of our children. But simply giving biblical encouragement as an option is not allowed. I called the manager and left a voicemail with no return call that I am aware of. I am disheartened by this.If pride month stuff is ok and Christian stuff is not then christians are clearly being discriminated against. To the manager: If you would like to address this I am happy to hear what you have to say. Not sure why one agenda is ok but an encouragement card is not ? People also as I said had an option to decline the card. Pretty sad that this is the place we are at now days. Keep in mind this was a once in awhile thing as the Good Lord would lay it on my heart. Pretty sad. Be careful don’t write down an encouraging note with a Bible verse as prayer freedom of expression is not allowed here it only is allowed when it benefits lgbtq community. I love all people but still. This is sad. Update: I wrote this and decided to quit shopping here for months. I did miss their selection of keto and organic foods so I am going to continue shopping at this location if the Lord puts it on my heart to tell someone about Jesus I will with my mouth. If they want to control actual speech then that’s really something. I understand pamphlets can be confused with solicitation. But it was not. And how I was treated does deserve an apology. For how it was said to me. It would have been a lot kinder to say this is something we don’t want for our customers as it can be confused with soliciting or maybe have me explain what I was doing and I probably would have said I will tell it by mouth instead as I feel led. It really is something to not have any comment back on this matter. It’s not right to be accused of soliciting without asking me about it there is a difference between encouragement cards...
Read moreHave you know. As for our family. Who spends easily $300 a week in this store. Will not return. Ever again. We used to really enjoy this store and the amount of fellowship we would get when coming to the store with my mom's certified and LICENSED emotional support chihuahua. This dog has never. Jumped on anyone. Never barks and will lay quietly in the kids' seats. Until spoken to or petted. If someone approached to pet him he always just stands for petting. I NEVER EVER had any complaints until today. When a manager presisted to follow my mom around the store. Then, she was approached being told that dogs weren't allowed in the store. So, anyone that will listen. We will tell how my mother was treated here. My mother who is a sever diabetic insulin dependent, dealing with face cancer, and lost her husband just in the same bout. That your competitor store that we happen to live right next to. Accepts him with open arms and the large box store in Lakeville does too. We'll take our $300 a week to support the other stores. ALWAYS only takes one entitled KAREN to make a beautiful human fighting to get through life peacefully to feel not welcome...
Read morePrices on some things are great, esp some of the store brand stuff, but other prices can be $1 or more higher than even Cub! I love the super nice, never in your face staff though, and that makes a difference to me. And they bag your groceries! I LOVE that!
In the end, I am a bit bummed that it is the ONLY grocery store within 15 miles (?)....and I do miss having choices. I am ok driving 25-30 miles for a Walmart and a Cub, I think an Aldi is close to the Walmart, but sometimes I just don't feel like it, especially after dark! It is REALLY DARK out here on these unlit, 2-lane roads....thank God for Google maps!
One last comment, baked goods are my major weakness, and everyone raves about the bakery here, but after a few tries, I have given up! Very surprised! Oh well, Casey's is only 5 minutes away and I am already addicted to the SUPERFRESH donuts, the likes of Mini-Donuts at the fair! Wow, massively in love I am! Ok, Coburns is okay but I miss my...
