It's a place where I let my turtle go when I was young and saw him a time later thriving perched up on a log. There are turtles and frogs and it's the kind of place you remember from childhood fondly. Great place for a quick picnic, walk fishing. And it's pretty close to Skokie. You'll catch blue gills and things like pretty regular, so its good for kids to catch their first fish and let it go. Very cool. I still remember the good times there. It might be a bit nicer now as people jog now...
Read moreBest fishing place hands down if your in Chicago area. It could be cleaned up a bit but no complains. Huge waterways, great opportunity to catch fish in any type of weather.
Only thing I would recommend is if I'm parked on the street for the forest preserve police not to honk to make me leave if the sun is setting. I can understand if they want to close the parking lot but I'm under a bridge parked...
