Ken Wallace dirt racing experience - Ken Wallace Dirt Racing Experience was an awesome experience for my son and me. Valeri and her staff made it extra enjoyable to be there and scheduling was a breeze. When we arrived at BAPS (Susquehanna) Motor Speedway in York, PA we checked in with Kasie who was helpful in every way. She answered all of our questions, was pleasant to deal with, and made us feel like we were at home. My son and I entered the track with mixed emotions because one of sprint carโs racing legends, Greg Hodnett, had recently lost his life in turn one at the speedway a few weeks prior to our experience. Greg was not only a great driver of the #27 but he did it with class. He was loved by all who followed the sport (rest in peace) and will be greatly missed. After we paid our respect in turn one, we proceeded to the infield to meet James who coordinated all the cars and drivers. His main concern was safety. He personally made sure that we were harnessed in properly and had good radio contact. For our 25 laps in the lightning fast sprint car, James kept in constant contact with us giving us tips on how to control the car to make it handle better. During the racing experience, it started to drizzle and James brought us in to adjust the cars and add air pressure to our tires so they would handle better in the new track conditions. After that incredible ride we did 10 laps in a late model. That was a very different experience and it was nice to be able to try it out too. During my sonโs ride in the late model, the car was not handling very well. James noticed this right away and brought my son in, adjusted the car and sent him back out. The adjustments worked and my son had an enjoyable experience in the late model car. James and his crew made it very clear that they cared about your safety but they also wanted you to have the best racing experience of your life. I give Valeri, Kasie, James, and the rest of the staff at Ken Wallace racing two thumbs up with a 5 star rating in every aspect. They definitely exceeded my expectations. I have been around racing since I was very young. I started as a fan and helped out on some pit crews for street stock, dirt modified and late models, but I always wanted to drive. My dad told me that racing was a rich manโs sport, but that is not the case with Wallace racing. You get to try it out and at the very least, you will gain some respect for the men and women who do it every week at our local tracks. They make it look easy and they are truly amazing. We look forward to returning to Kenny Wallace racing in the near future. Val and staff, thanks for the memories...
ย ย ย Read moreSuch a great family friendly experience. We went for the first time in late October. Parking was easy and free. No obnoxious crowds. Took our 3 year old. Make sure young kids have ear protection. It gets VERY loud. My husband regretted not bringing ear plugs. Staff was so nice. Lots of food to choose from. But CASH ONLY. It was trick or treat night for kids. Drivers parked on the front stretch of track and handed out candy. Spectators were allowed on the track. So cool. Especially for kids. Overall the whole program was run so quickly and smooth. No wasted time. We arrived 30 min before the scheduled first race but they decided to start the race early since they were ahead of schedule anyway. We really appreciated that. There was never a time when cars werenโt on the track and the announcer was great at updating on everything happening. All seats had backs and track was easily visible from anywhere.
Updating review: Planned to go again for trick or treat night but it was cancelled and moved to the night before due to weather. They did it at intermission which was around 10pm and we simply could not stay until then. We ended up leaving before the trick or treating which was a huge bummer for the kids. Wish they had planned that a little better knowing most parents can't keep their little kids up that late. It was pretty...

The track is super wide which allows for spectacular racing. (wide tracks allow for better passing). The event was very affordable.. and family friendly. The fans were passionate about Sprints.. and went crazy when Tony Stewart won!
The owner Scott and his partner April were very visible during the race this demonstrates they are very hands on.. to ensure all in attendance had a great time.
A few key tips for those who have never been to BAPS: Its a very dusty track with a lot of red clay dust in the air. Wear old clothes (you will be covered in dust by the end of the night) Bring a change of clothes so you don't get clay dust all over your car Bring Protective Eyewear Ear Plugs Dust Mask (yes it could be that dusty) Bathrooms (are port-o-lets) and can have a bit of a line.. so plan accordingly Beer (they dont sell it on premise) Parking can be a bit of a gong show.. so you got...
