First Strike Indoor Range — Local services in Newbury Township

Got my CCW license through the class John taught in May 2024, and have consistently come back since to practice. I’ve rented multiple pistols, narrowing down what I’d be comfortable carrying. All of the staff have been extremely informative, helpful, and thorough every time I come here. Some provided input on the firearms themselves; while others suggested multiple varieties of products to carry (clothing, holsters, etc.). Thanks to them, I feel confident carrying day-to-day.

Jack (a.k.a Rock), recently taught a “learn to shoot” class in the evening. Thanks to him, I’ve increased my speed and accuracy. He’s personable, a great instructor, and gives constructive criticism that benefits your practice long-term. Jason has consistently helped out whenever I come in, regardless of what I need or how many questions I ask. John has been helping since I took the class a year ago, and suggested a variety of handguns for me to try until I found one I was happy with.

I have been going to and highly recommending First Strike since 8/22. They are an awesome range. The school I went to for CCW, take their students to this range weekly. They have a small store where you can buy items such as pistol grips to AR parts and everything in-between. Range fee is currently only $18 per person all day that blows all other ranges out of the water. Safety is paramount, range rules must be read and signed off on and eyes and ears are strictly enforced. Staff watch customers through a large window and have CCTV cameras on the range. The staff regularly sweeps up range brass and provides you a push broom and garbage cans to clean up after yourself. Combine all this with a very friendly staff who's always willing to provide you helpful advise, and provide you a clean bathroom to use, its a win win. Saturdays are very busy due to CCW class students. My only complaint is there is no heat in the winter or A/C in the summer. This helps to keep the charges low so dress accordingly. Awesome experience! I called ahead of time to get details, letting Ben know that I know NOTHING about shooting ranges/guns, but that I wanted to bring my boyfriend as a birthday surprise. He was extremely helpful and took the time to explain everything to me. When we arrived, I had planned on shooting along with my boyfriend. I went back there and spent about 10 minutes watching and trying to work up the courage, but ultimately chickened out because I’m just not a gun person and I hate the noise. I exited the range and watched my boyfriend shoot. I never asked for a refund, but when it was time to pay, Ben didn’t charge me for the time I spent back there before chickening out. My boyfriend also had some difficulty with his gun, and Ben took the time to inspect and clean out the carbon buildup and then even tested it afterwards to make sure it was okay. He and his dad also gave great cleaning tips and suggestions for gun care. Great guys, great place....
