Dollar General — Local services in Newington

I have lived in Newington for the past 3 years, this location is the closest to me and I've been a customer at this location since then. This evening I've had the worst experience I've ever experienced. I am a senior on a budget. I don't understand all the digital coupons and when I was telling the cashier that there was a sale on the coca cola 12 packs she started informing me that the sale will only come off if there's a digital coupons. We went in circles for a few minutes. She's saying I can't get the discount I'm saying I'm able too. My daughter started asking for her name because how rude she was being. My daughter wanted to call corporate. She refused to give us her name even after asking for a manager. She said she was the manager and once again she refused to give us her name. She finally wrote down her name on the receipt and after another customer started complaining. The cashier/ manager is named Amy. She was rude and has no customer service skill. I really do not want to go back into the store cause the way I was treated just hoping this situation gets resolved so no customer will ever have to feel the way...

I’m responding to Glynda’s complaint as her post was completely untrue.

I entered the store as she was asking about a specific sell. The cashier was explaining how the sale worked. Glynda did not like her answer and began to use explicit profanity towards the cashier. As I’m standing there with my daughter, I politely asked her to watch her language. Her grown daughter then turned to me with that same language and middle finger in my face. Trying to provoke a physical confrontation.

It was very obvious that they were there to cause trouble. Glynda did ask for the cashiers name in which was written on paper at the end of the transaction.
