We drove from Blowing Rock down Globe Rd. which took about an hour, to hike Harper Creek Falls. Afterwards we stopped by Coffey's to get something to drink and a few snacks. The Store-Museum is fabulous to wander through with all the history we wanted to spend more time but is was in between heavy rain storms and we felt a little rushed to beat the crazy storms. But the lady working the counter who makes the wonderful bread was a blast to talk to. So incredibly sorry that I don't remember her name! We definitely have to go back because my husband wanted the praline bread and mistakenly picked up the pistachio but he loved it! Oh and I want to try her famous strawberry rhubarb jelly. Great store highly recommend taking the beautiful drive out to Coffey's.

A lovely place in the middle of nowhere to learn about the history of the area, grab some snacks and poke around. Staff was very helpful in answering questions and talking about the history or Mortimer and Edgemont.

We were there to help with the clean up from the hurricane. Teresa and Eric were very grateful for the help. We also had the opportunity to find and meet many of our relatives. A good day!!!

Oh just great memories when I come to Edgemont NC. The old Coffey's Store bring back so many memories. After my Highschool Graduation (1972) I planned to spend a week camping at Mortimer alone - fishing, hiking, and enjoying one heck of a week. That changed on Thursday. A tour bus pulled in and unloaded 50 Girl Scouts from Charlotte. There went the quite surroundings. What luck - I was the only teenage boy around. I didn't cook another meal all week. Great bunch of kids and adults in that troop. Some great memories. If you were part of that...

Only open on the weekends, but a Awesome place and must see. Coffeys has a lot of outstanding items inside. People who run Coffeys are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This area is full of some amazing history. My favorite item by far has to be the fresh home-made bread and jellies. Awesome sour dough bread, zucchini bread and banana bread. The home made Apple Cinnamon jelly was so delicious 😋. Definitely going back and would highly recommend...
