This is a great place to visit for several different types of activities.. This is a very popular insert point for canoers and kayakers who will go Downstream many miles to their pickup point. Read moreNice preserve. A bit hot in summer as there is little tree coverage on the trails. Saw several deer, groundhogs and rabbits. The birds were too numerous to count. Stargazer Stone can be reached from a short trail located off the back of ChesLen Preserve on route 162. This stone marks the spot where astronomer and surveyor Mason and Dixon set up an obseratory which they used to in setting the Maryland and Pennsylvania boundary line. Notables: The parking lot was full, but most of the time the walk was pleasantly private.
The rolling hills give a wonderful view as well as a bit of a workout compared to flat land.
There were some wooded portions, giving a bit of variation to the walk.
We walked there for maybe 5-6 hours and still didn't walk the entire park.
