I stopped into Shannon's Gardens because I read on their Facebook page that they grow their own produce. Unfortunately, they did not sell just their own produce. At the time of visit, none of their produce was their own. They purchase bulk commercial produce and sell it in their little shed. The cashier told me that it wasn't food they grew themselves. It was misleading to write on Facebook that it's their own homegrown produce when it's not. When I brought this up on their Facebook page and asked what they do grow, I was ignored by the company and harassed by other customers who didn't want to admit or know that not all of their products are their own. I'm simply looking for transparent companies. This is an issue, especially in Tennessee, where local businesses are pining off that it's their own products, grown on their land, later to find out it's factory farmed and not their own or local. This company has proven more than once that it's deceitful in its practices, and I will not support businesses that prioritize deception over honesty...
   Read moreThe produce there is reasonably priced. I've been going there or to their stand at the Farmers Market on Wednesdays all summer to buy tomatoes. A good tomatoes tastes like sunshine!!!! The staff is absolutely AMAZING!! They are so friendly and extremely kind. If you're in the area of their Gardens, (on Edwina Road, visitors just ask anyone in town, they can get you to Edwina Road)you gotta go by and see the Fall Decorations and see the beautiful full blooming mums.
