Victory Lanes — Local services in Newport

Awful ! Went with a group of friends to celebrate a young lady with disabilities birthday. The family rented two lanes for two hours ..which wasn't cheap at all. However when they tried to bring her birthday cake in they were refused.. they were told they had to 'purchase' a birthday party package for 80+ bucks . When they asked what else came with the package other than what they had already paid for ..they were told the use of a table.. they made the family take the cake back outside and leave it in the hot car .. they were told no presents no balloons or cake unless they bought the package.. ridiculous !!!! The sad thing was the cake was for a special needs young girl who didn't understand why her cake wasn't allowed in.. unfortunately the family already paid for two hours of bowling on two lanes .the other disturbing thing is that they had at least five open table and no one using them the entire time we were there. .we will NEVER use this bowling alley again ! We will make the drive to Morristown alley which is cleaner..cheaper and much more...

I'm just starting to bowl again after a forty-year hiatus. Having heard good things about Victory Lanes, I stopped by and met Michael, the owner. Michael is a nice guy, and he honestly made me feel welcome. This isn't the newest up-to-date alley, but I honestly can't say anything negative about it. A family operated business like this is something we need more of. I will be visiting Victory Lanes often. Edit: I've been bowling here in leagues for almost 13 months now and continue to meet new people and make new friends. Victory Lanes really is a great place with great people. The whole place inside and out needs updated so bad. It could be such a great place for families to come and enjoy but even pulling in the parking lot, it looks so run down and uninviting. This place is perfect for parties, groups and families if it was just better maintained. The chairs inside are all stained. Every thing is wore out and the ball kept getting hung up in our lane. I hope improvements can be made because this place has so much potential! I've been several times for birthday parties and hope each time they've painted the outside or planted some flowers, or updated the inside, but nothing so far.
