First off I've been at this venue before many times. This was not the first time coming to this venue. The e ticket system failed me. The staff at the gates were unprofessional, like laughing at customers and rude. Untrained teenage infants running security and unsupervised in how to us their scanners to be able to get into race they found out the scanner wasent even on. Next I bought tickets a year ago with newton club passes for 3 and added another the day of race Friday. These tickets were on my phone text messaging. They had troubles with the whole check in process couldn't get into the newton club due to ticketing issue. THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND ME IN THERE ACCOUNT BUT STILL COULNT FIGURE OUT NEXT STEP TO GET IN VENUE. i verifed with phone number. They were able to get us in for Friday with alot of difficulty and when checking into the newton club had same issues again. Any way 2 of the people I came with decided not to go after the last mess. So it was just me and a grandson, we were able to get in the gate but got held up at newton club same issue. I went to front office and gave up asked for a refund. The manager at office said he could walk me thru but race was already starting i gave up trying to get in to the race after issues getting into newton club which also where you sit. I asked for a refund for sat and sunday and they act like it is my fault there ticket system failed. I left after getting upset trying to get into the races two days, two days of hell off and alot of money spent. Will not ever return to this venue. This is why your ticket sales are going down. The parking passes were a joke, people were tail gating in the spots made for people to park. No organization in the parking. Found camping spot was being used by someone else before I got there. They forget we got a hotel on nascar weekend which are alot higher then normal. I lost big time thanks nascar and the unperfessional staff at newton. Ohhhh Maggie from nascar don't plan on stealing from...
Read moreHy-Vee Race weekend....We paid $1000 dollars for VIP tickets to our favorite Post Malone!..... Will never come back again for such a event.... people were nice .... The venue it's self was decent...usual prices and parking...... But the VIP tickets got YOU nothing VIP.... It was a fenced off little section in front of the stage and the rest of the infield concert people around you....we flew all the way here, rented a car, booked a hotel etc... there was no shade @ 93 Degrees .. we went down to the infield a little before 2 ( the show was basically 2-5)... They only had 4 pop up tents( for shade) right when you entered the field and tons of water and Gatorade.... When we got to the VIP section it was just a a little fenced off section in front of the stage...... The heat was unbearable and they had no place for shade in the VIP, also didn't even have mist fans.... Sooooo for 3 hours in the dead of sunshine and heat ...well you know how we felt.... We had drank so much water and Gatorade but yet couldn't leave our spot in VIP because of the crowd outside the fence don't budge to let you in or out....no restrooms were convenient etc... and LAST BUT NOT LEAST..... found out ( VERY CREDIBLE SOURCE) they were giving out the VIP bracelets( you could tell all the people who paid what we paid, we were like family during this experience lol) and the free infield concert passes they passed out were the last straw.....I PAID THE VIP PRICES , TRAVELED and waited in the dead of summer ... TO BE SMASHED BY PEOPLE AND MADE ME EVEN HOTTER WHEN POSTY FINALLY CAME ON...for all that I paid for ...and the trip I took to experience IOWA SPEEDWAY.... I wouldn't recommend this experience...
Read moreNot a huge race fan but I enjoy experiences. I've been to the Indy500 and NASCAR cup series at Martinsville, Richmond, and Vegas. The track here in Newton is decent compared to the others.
Stopped at the Love's station for food before the first race. We had heard people mumble about the food inside the speedway and didn't want to spend an insane amount of money on sub-par meals. The people around us were not happy with their purchases. Luckily, the Chester's we ate beforehand was 🔥 and it cost us next to nothing.
Getting in and out of the parking area is a challenge. There are tractors and golf carts to pick you up depending on availability. We just parked on the outer edges and walked so that we could leave the area before traffic got backed up. Yes, it was a long walk in the heat (~20 minutes) but totally worth it not to get stuck in a 45 minute traffic jam like others. Not sure that Uber/Lyft drivers can get close enough to pick visitors up. I saw a lot of people have to walk to junctions at the bottom of the hills in order to get to their rides since roads were blocked.
As I said earlier, I'm not much into racing so we left during the laps and came back for the concerts. The sound was decent from where we were sitting. Section 301 the first day, and section 210 the second day. Be aware that people will try to sit wherever for the concerts and you'll have to tell people to get out of your seats if you're not there the whole time. There's also a lot of good standing room under the bleachers and by the concessions. The sound was still good there. I didn't get any echo until we walked toward the far edges.
It was a cool experience and I'm...
