Chartrand Farms Beef — Local services in Norridgewock

I'm glad to have found Chartrand Farms. The quality of the meat is excellent and the prices are reasonable. I had been looking for a source of local meat and decided to just stop by and check them out. I was greeted by the owner who was very friendly and helpful. Their shop is clean and well organized with freezer cases so you can look at all of the options. I was happy to see they sell ground beef separated into 1 pound frozen packages. At the time their price was $5.50 a pound for 85/15. If you bought 10 pounds or more, it was only $5.00 per pound. That is very reasonable compared to grocery stores and the added convenience of their packaging makes it an excellent value. That's before we even get to the quality. There is no comparison. The ground beef from Chartrand is far superior to anything I've ever gotten at the grocery store. It cooks up well with much less liquid to drain than other ground beef I've had. It also makes some if the best burgers I've ever tasted. I've been getting my ground beef from Chartrand exclusively and I have also recently purchased one of their meat packages. Steaks, stew beef, shaved steak, roast, etc.... I messaged them about an hour before I planned to be there and they had my order ready when I arrived. The flat iron steak was delicious cooked fast and hot on the grill. I haven't cooked anything else yet but I have no doubt the quality will be consistent.
