Honey Lake Bee Company — Local services in North Barrington

Midway through this year, 2023, I’ve made the decision to begin making my own health and beauty products. Of course, with that, came the decision to support local businesses. Most of the recipes I’ve been trying call for, among other ingredients, honey and/or beeswax (or pellets). As I wanted to stop purchasing such items from big businesses, I googled local honey producers and Honey Lake Bee Co. was the business to which I gravitated. I appreciated their simple, user-friendly website and the flat-rate $8.95 shipping or in-person pickup options. Although I live near downtown Chicago, I and my pup, and sometimes my mother, always make the one hour drive to North Barrington to pick up my orders.

I’ve purchased both the spring/summer and fall honeys, which are both of great quality and taste. I’ve made a simple, but effective, peppermint hair pomade with the beeswax pellets. My mother’s a supporter of the business as well. She’s purchased both the regular and creamed honeys along with a few honey spoons! My latest, but definitely not the last, purchase included 4lb beeswax pellets, 5 homemade soap bars and 2lb fall honey.
