I have a multi-year on-going battle with Waste Management.
I've been double billed several times during my home ownership and they insisted I was at fault, even when they admitted that they were charging me a monthly billing fee AND a weekly charge as well. They claimed I requested this. Um ... what????
I've been charged for "additional garbage containers" when I have never put any out. I sent pictures to back up my claim, they had none, yet no refund was ever provided. I've been charged for "container not being closed" claiming I had garbage sticking out of the lid. Again I sent pictures and they had none yet they claim I was lying and no refund was ever provided. I've been charged extra for "loose items" in my garbage, which has never happened as I personally bag everything and CHECK AGAIN at 6:30 am just before the truck comes. Again I sent pictures and they had none yet they claim I am at fault and no refund was ever provided.
Service on our street has been canceled, without notifying us, citing "pending inclement weather" that didn't happen. Yet the very next day the streets scheduled for their pick up were serviced just fine, during the actual inclement weather. When we call for an explanation, we are not provided one.
We have random lack of service for 1 particular bin (either trash, or recycling, or yard waste) on our street. Again, no communication as to why. When any of us call to get service for this bin, historically a truck comes and collects from the bin of the house who called and not the rest of us on the street.
Now they are raising prices 30% twice in one year. Someone is making a lot of money off of the home owners and that's not okay.
We have distinct lack of faith at this point. And it's not like we have any other options in our area because they are contracted directly through the City of Kirkland who we pay for...
Read moreRegularly misses pick ups and you can't reach a real person to schedule one. In the last 3 months they've missed a bin 5 times - this is the absolute worst company on the planet. The majority of people in our community are dissatisfied with the local service and communication. I would vote to bring in another company in a heartbeat. And just today this was posted on our community FB page.
Hi mamas, I am writing to share one incident involving one of the WM drivers earlier today. My toddler, who is passionate about garbage trucks, and I were walking in a nearby neighborhood when we saw one of the trucks approaching. We were on the sidewalk, safely behind the truck, watching from a distance as it operated. My son was excited and simply wanted to see the truck in action — something he enjoys. To my surprise, instead of a friendly wave or acknowledgment, the driver stopped, leaned out, and rudely yelled at me, saying something to the effect of: "Watch your kid — don’t expect me to watch your kid for you!" I calmly replied that I was watching my son closely, and we were well behind the truck on the sidewalk. At no point were we in danger or too close to the vehicle. The tone and attitude of the driver were completely uncalled for — harsh, aggressive, and deeply disappointing. Read moreI had a difficult time setting up my account. The online advisor shared an incorrect email to set up a new account which I realized and correct it after a week after couple of online conversations. Though I requested to pick up the trash on the first service day, the driver missed the pick up which I had to raise a concern with the online team. They said the pick up truck with come again but that never happend on the first day. However the online team understands my concern and helped me to adjust my first service date. There are definitely a lot of opportunities to improve the communication b/w the online and the pick up team.
Update (1/23/2024) Changing rating to 1 but want to give 0. I started with a new service, and my service date was supposed to be on Jan 12, but no one picked up trash and it was moved to Jan 19th. Again, no one picked up!! I spoke with an advisor on chat and was told someone would come to pickup on Jan 22nd again that no one did. I've contacted online support 4 times so far, but no show yet. I'm highly disappointed with the service, and now my trash is overflowing! I'm not sure what to do now!! they didn't pick on the trash pickup day and also promised...
