It would be too easy to write how good the BBQ IS from SCQ, especially since everyone else writes this. Rhode Island knows already that their menu is delicious. I wish to explain why.
I attended the Linesider Brewery Chili Cookoff last Saturday, with seven food establishments competing. We all got to sample a half cup of chili from all, and the winner only got bragging rights. No money to be won, no trophy, the chili was not sold, and the price of entry allowed all of us to sample all the chilis.
SCQ took this competition seriously. They used the highest quality meats in their chili including buffalo meat, a few different kinds of beans, and topped it off with a few wagu beef tips that were smoked so slowly it melted in your mouth. Was it butter that tasted like beef, or was it beef that tasted like butter...does not matter, both are winners. The seasonings were few and simple, and it allowed you to taste how good the meat was, not being overpowered by spices, or toppings like sour cream, onions, or shredded cheddar cheese. There was a side of corn bread, which added a bit of sweetness, if you wanted that. Frankly, the chili did not need it.
Guess what? They won for the second year in a row, voted upon by all who attended. So now I ask you this....if SCQ is serious about an event where they do not make money, how good do you think their food is...

First and foremost, the food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was prepared to perfection, but the standout for us was undoubtedly the brisket. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, it was easily the best brisket we've ever had. The quality and care that went into the preparation were evident with every bite.
The punctuality of South County BBQ was also impressive. The food arrived exactly on time, which is a huge plus for any event planning. It ensured everything ran smoothly and allowed us to focus on enjoying the occasion.
A special shoutout goes to Arthur, who went above and beyond by sticking around to answer some allergy-related questions. His patience and thoroughness were incredibly helpful, providing peace of mind for our guests with dietary restrictions.
Overall, South County BBQ exceeded our expectations in every way. Delicious food, impeccable service, and attentive staff ā we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend them for any event, and we will definitely be returning for more of that...

The highlight of the evening? The incredible pairing of their wines with mouthwatering barbecue from South County Barbecue.
South County Barbecue and their phenomenal team absolutely knocked it out of the park! Every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and served hot, and I was amazed by the variety of offerings and how seamlessly they complemented the wine. It was a spectacular experience, and I highly recommend both Gooseneck Vineyards and South County Barbecue.
If you have the chance, Iād even suggest following South County Barbecue to different venues for more pairingsāwhether with wine or beerābecause they truly bring something special to the table. The service was outstanding, the food was top-notch, and the overall experience was nothing short of fantastic.
