Situated in the picturesque town of Dundas, Keepsake Cidery offers a unique and intimate cider experience. The cidery’s taproom is a cozy and welcoming atmosphere just a few minutes south of downtown Northfield. Walk around the farm and orchard to meet the horses and see the apples, berries and plums growing on their property. And if you’re lucky like we were, you’ll catch some live music on the patio. Follow @expeditionkristen for more unique travel tips, advice and detailed itineraries in Minnesota, Wisconsin, the greater Midwest and beyond!

I had Keepsake Cidery on my "must visit" list for when we moved to Minnesota, but when they announced a Cheesefest soon after we arrived, I knew I had to move it up on my itinerary. I only wish it was closer--not a 50 minute drive--so we could visit more regularly! In any case, it is a gorgeous drive through the countryside to Dundas. We were among the first to arrive. The cheese vendors with their samples were set up in Russet Hall, while the main commercial building had special Cheesefest version of their "toasties," their grilled sandwiches. The shop also had chilled and room temperature ciders along with other items like frozen meat, local maple syrup and honey, and Keepsake swag. The bar has a great menu of the ciders along with tasting flights, and my husband was even able to have a beer. After a toastie, salad, and a cider flight, we checked out the cheesemakers and bought some of their lovely cheese. By that time, the crowd was starting to come in, so I was glad we arrived when we did to order food! We had a truly lovely time there and I look forward to trying the cider bottles that we bought!

Best cider period!! They have a fantastic range of cider and I love that there is a wonderful selection of dry ciders, so hard to find! I especially like the Wood and Spirit and the dry River Valley Reserve. There is something appealing to any palette, including non alcoholic options. The food is tasty as well (especially recommend the toasties!)The space is absolutely idyllic in the country side and surrounded by the orchard and woods. There are many seatings options outside, and beautiful gardens that seem to always be in bloom. There is also a good amount of indoor seating to get cozy on a rainy day. The owners are great people with strong values in supporting and developing community, with many locally sourced items for sale (meat, eggs, honey, yarn) and host many events for the community.

Wow! What a beautiful orchard and tasting room experience! Several friends and I recently visited here and were warmly greeted by Tracy and Nate and their kids. One of their kids brought out a couple of the bunnies that they raise for us to see and gently pet and that made our day too! Flopsy and Snugglebuns were so adorable and soft and easy-going. The tasting room was relaxing and very family-friendly. We each tried some of their ciders and a couple of their natural wines too. I had a flight of three ciders and decided to bring a bottle of the Organic Wild Medium Cider home after enjoying it. I also had one of their warm “toastie” sandwiches which was SO worth it! I do wish they had more ciders that were on the sweeter side of the spectrum, but I passed along my ideas and hopefully they will consider making one with maple syrup or some other sweet-flavored cider in the future too! It is truly a gem of a small business and I can’t believe that I had never visited here before! My friends and I all agreed it was the highlight of our day trip down to the Northfield/ Dundas area. I cannot wait to come back in the other seasons and taste more of their ciders, and bring family and friends here too! I also loved that they sell locally-grown and raised foods like free range eggs and...
